Gets a 7.8 on IMDB. A great movie starring Christian Bale...even better for a quid.

Loads of copies in my local Poundland

"Trevor, a machinist, has not slept in a year. Fatigue has led to a shocking deterioration of his physical and mental health. Suspicious of his appearance, Trevors co-workers first shy away from him,* IMDB Spoiler removed * :-) He has become a liability to himself and others.

Plagued with guilt, Trevors shame becomes suspicion, then paranoia, when it appears his workmates are conspiring to have him fired - or worse. First he finds cryptic notes left in his apartment. Next hes told that a mysterious co-worker involved in the accident doesn't exist.

Are these mysteries a plot to drive Trevor mad? Or is fatigue robbing him of his reason? Trevor investigates the strange occurrences that are turning his world into a sleepless nightmare. Yet the more he learns, the less he wants to know... "

Why?

The general populous are morons and have no appreciation of work of this calibre.
In a country where people reach adulthood and can't read, write or spell it's hardly a surprise.

innit?!?!? :whistling:

Yes these are proper retail dvds, got it last week. I think there is a general post somewhere that covers the Poundland dvd's that someone posted a week or two ago. The Machinist I picked up is distributed by Prism Leisure (cat no PPA1731R) and has DD5.1 & DTS 5.1 and is 16:9 Anamorphic letterbox. Extras are commentary and interview with director Brad Anderson, making the machinist feature and deleted scenes. I haven't got round to watching it yet though!

Good Deal. Movie isn't too bad, a cross between "memento" and insomnia.

Am i the only one who found this film boring :whistling:

Couldnt care how many stars it gets , i say what i think , and not just say i loved it just cause other people say it.

It was a depressing boring film , didnt even pay attention to most of it and im usually alert when watching films

Very good film, I'm a huge Bale fan and whilst I thought this was a bit predictable, it didn't take anything away from it.
#22

Picked mine up from Poundland in Coalville, Leics. there were at least a dozen copies on the shelf
#26
never seen it,, voted hot at that price ill have a look at ours
#27
The reason why this is so cheap is that Prism Leisure are no longer trading, so i'm presuming that this is old stock.
#28
Brilliant price for a great film.

Love the plot.... and fair play to bale, losing all the weight for the film.

They went bankrupt and the stuff was practically given away, we bought thousands of them at 10p for the less well known titles and 20p for stuff like Bride Of Chuck, House Of 1000 Corpses etc. Poundland must of took loads more than us so probably paid 10p for any or even less. So they're still making a killing on these.

Real good film
