As title.

It's more expensive on their website (?!) so I snapped this up today in the Eastleigh (Hampshire) store as it was cheaper than anywhere I've seen online.

Note to Blu-Ray newbies: you've not seen the power of HD resolution until you've seen Laurence Fishburne's wonderfully furrowed features in a close-up shot. FYI, you can also get this experience in MI 3.

I should also add that the transfer to Blu-Ray is smashing - buy it if you have the DVD.

Quick question...

Was this with the other blu-rays in the "blu-ray" section, OR at the end of an isle in one of the red cardboard offer stands>?

Rick

The Matrix on its own was never released on HD DVD, only as a trilogy.

not only are bad they are SO bad that they ruin the first one. Most depressing sequels ever. Closely followed by x-men:the last stand

Thats why they call it a matter of opinnion.

I just bought the sealed set on here for £23 posted so okay for me.

I agree they should of left it where it was at number 1. But they are how they are.

No. Opinion would vary from person to person. Fact is universal.

Everyone knows that the two extra films were bad. Really bad.

Rick

It was in the regular section.

Read the title - BD, not HD-DVD.

The post is for those who'd rather spend £12.44 for one film than £10 each for three films, only one of which they actually want.

I don't think the sequels were terrible but The Matrix can stand as a story in its own right and I wouldn't spend £20 on the other two.

Technically it's in Chandler's Ford, which is a respectable part of the Eastleigh Borough (unlike Eastleigh town, which is bEastleigh).

At the moment, I think it's reasonable to spend £10-12 on a decent BD - you just can't compare the price to DVDs as they're completely different markets.

It does grate when you've been used to spending well under a tenner for your video entertainment though!

It's £12.99 at HMV (with 5% Quidco) and free P+P. http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=288;12;-1;-1;-1&sku=917430

That's fine if you're desperate to save a few pence over several weeks (or however long it takes to get the Quidco payment) and don't mind waiting for delivery. This post was for those who want The Matrix ASAP at a reasonably price.
