Southend internet entrepreneur slapped with 'business ASBO'

THE boss of an internet shop has been slapped with a ‘business ASBO’ after repeatedly failing to meet customers’ orders.

On the evidence that the website has gone and several online messages which state that, this lot would appear to have gone bust.
Anyone who is out of pocket should contact their bank (for a debit or credit card transaction).
If you paid in another way I'm not sure.

I'm still waiting for my ££ but it's in the hands of the bank now so I'm just hounding them left right and centre, via twitter, Facebook and mse and any other forum I frequent ;)

13 working days now and have contacted bank regarding chargeback. They have asked me to ask one final time for the refund before doing it through the bank. I've also indicated that I shall contact trading standards.
I got a refund from the bank last week.
Amongst other things I sent them a screen print with all the unanswered messages in my acccount.
I've had a holding reply from Southend council.
I haven't forgiven OHBco yet. Ridiculous that via twitter they are blaming being set up by a competitor. Have you left a suitable review at trustpilot?

@CraftbrewingUK Should find out the truth before making unfounded statements unless you are involved. We have been set up by a competitor.

Bunch of cowboys. :(

Wherry is £22 in Wilko as Loudmouth says. Be careful with the Wherry kits though - a lot of stuck fermentations. Having said that, it is a nice pint.
Still charging for postage even if order is over £60.the product reviews are helpful on the site at least but didn't order with them.
Tesco slightly more expensive but free delivery to store and clubcard points.10% off homebrew products aswell.
gunton10
they have them in wilkinsons for under ten pound. COLD

Funny, was in Wilkos yesterday and the kits were nearer to £20.
In fact checked the website and the Wherry kit is £22. Methinks you're just guessing there gunton :)

Wish I'd never heard of this lot. Still waiting for an order I placed on 18 December.
There are several items in my order and as each one comes into stock, out goes another.
Online stock system is inaccurate. Avoid.

Still very good value even after paying for shipping. I ordered enough kits to last me a few months.

Looks like the company have gone bust after a raft of complaints
Took my money before Christmas 2011, still no goods and no refund either. AVOID this lot and use your local home brew shop or one of the other online stores.
The Wherry kit turned out nice even with a beginners learning curve!

Bit annoyed at the free beer kit offer as you don't get to choose it, they send you a 'mystery' kit - hopefully not the cheapest one they could lay their hands on!

Gave a bottle of the Wherry to a mate and he now wants to start brewing himself, said he couldn't believe how good it was for a home brew!

Still the actual kit (beer and equipment) was a good deal and has started me on a new hobby... shouldn't all hobbies involve drinking beer!
Well my first brew tastes pretty good (similar to Co op Expert Ale if any of you know that, £1.12 a can and OK)

Annoyingly redeeming the voucher for the first free kit was not that straightforward - you have to add certain items like flavour enhancer, steriliser, sugar before completing the redemption...but there is no way of working out if you actually need these for the kit, as there is no info available on it.

For the £4.95 postage I'm not sure if I'll bother next time - I have a good local homebrew shop.

Their customer service is a joke had a split barrel delivered from them and I had to pay for return delivery also they blamed me for the fault. I'd urge people to look else where.

Wilkinsons do a kit for 40 pints for about £20, another set of the ingredients is about a tenner. Not sure its a huge bargain. Also they don't generally make good beer.If you're being picky then you can get 3 x 12 Packs of Beer for £20 in most supermarkets in the run up to christmas, probably cheaper to be honest. So for the same price you can get 108 pints of decent beer without running the risk of your beer being awful or poisoning youI understand that there is a certain amount of fun and satisfactiom from brewing your own but a) it is never that good from one of these kits, b) it might not work and c) the beer is not cost effective. If you want a bit of fun or a gift for someone for some fun to make their own beer, you may as well get a cheaper kit as chances are this expensive kit will be used onceR

Yep, this is the best deal, and its 80 pints cause you get another 40 pint set included in the box as a bonus. Think they cost £23.99.
I use these for my home brew supplies now, I find them much faster for delivery and they seem to have way more stock than the others, free delivery on orders of £40 or more as well which is decent.
