http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dw-49-en-15-orange-70-2ae7.html

Amazing deal, shame the post is pear shaped...

Great Deal - actually £23.52 only a penny but might as well have it right!

Why is this being voted cold? It says on the page that it works with PAL consoles...

I'd like to know before I order.
#2
Wow, 5 top games in one, cheap price, and available over a week before uk release, and it gets voted cold?
#3
Probably won't get this cheaper anywhere.

The only thing slightly worrying is that the games published by EA, who never make games region free as far as i'm aware
#5
So this will work on un modded UK 360s?
#6
So Play-Asia say. I've ordered. Anyone voting this cold should say why, it's an awesome price and they say it works... If it doesn't then can complain a lot...

Play-Asia are pretty reliable, they have said it has been tested and works on PAL.

Good enough for me...

what a deal! Play Asia comes to the rescue yet again :) now i just hope COD4 is region free too...
#11
Never used play Asian do you usually get stuck with VAT if you buy in the UK?

Also it says English language does that just mean ingame, or is the manual/box English as well?

i've used them 4 or 5 times, never been stung. and usually the manuals have an english section. The boxes are sometimes in Japanese/Chinese, but thats no biggie.

CoD3 was region free - I bought it from Play Asia without any hitches, no reason why CoD4 shouldn't be region free too.

made by differnet ppl..... ??

I ordered it from Play Asia too. only thing i wasnt sure about - COD4 is back with Infinity Ward this time so wasnt sure if a different developer might affect things. but then i've noticed it's still published by Activision who tend to make games region free. Fingers crossed.

Would avoid this seller, they are known to sell copied games claiming its all legit (quick Google search should confirm this)

Seen some of there stuff first hand that a work college bought from them and its anything but legal.

Personally i would buy from a retailer based in the UK and support our games industry.
#20
Ordered. Used them before and never had a problem. There is that SLIGHT chance of customs but thats it.

They have the new CSI game on there region free too for a very good price if anyone is interested.
#21
If they were selling copied games, people would complain when they received them as they wouldn't work in non modded consoles.

The games they sell are of a different region to the PAL games sold here, not copied version.

This is quite a slanderous remark. Have you any proof to back up this statment???

Many of us here have been using play-asia and have had no such problems...

#23
Tried it will see what happens.
#24
They aren't copies.
They are Asian region free versions. The only downside is that you can't trade them at BB or CEX after as there is no BBFC age rating on them.

I've ordered about 5 games and all were fine.
#25
Play-asia are a great company. A quick google search is insufficient evidence to prove that these games are 'copied'. If it wasnt legit then Microsoft would have probably filed a claim against the site like sony did against Lik-Sang and close it down

Just going off what i have seen, as i said a work college bought DS games from them and ended up getting an R4 cartage with several licenced games (including nintendo licenced games) on it, nothing legit looking about it (didn't even have a case).

Maybe its different with other console games?

you are a plonker making such an allegation, i have bought many many games from them all legit, the games they sell are often UK specced anyway.

stop trying to inflame this post.

i will buy from this country when they stop ripping us off
#28
Are you sure he ordered from play-asia and isn't confusing them with someone else? I'd want to be 100% sure before making a damaging remark such as that.

They are a well established company and have a pretty good standing in the Internet gaming community. I've ordered from them plenty of times without any problems.

If you can prove it great but if you can't..... there's the log off key!

This is nonsense, I have used them for a number of years and have never received anything but the highest levels of service. A case in point being the recent problems with Chinese audio copies of Halo 3, that were accidently sold in Hong Kong by all retailers (they were destined for Taiwan). Play Asia replaced them free of charge, you don't have to send the Chinese audio version back until you receive the English audio version and they are also crediting peoples accounts with $10 to apologise.

I also completely fail to see how buying this from a UK retailer would support 'our' game industry - this is a game made by an American company (Valve) and published by an American company (EA) so the only UK industry you would be supporting is the retail industry.

Forgot to say.... Great price.
I'm stoking that fire...... I mean, heat added! :giggle:

So would this basically be the same as getting a uk copy of the disc ?

would you still have access to all the online content ? and be able to play online normally ???

would the in game writing etc be in english ?

I saw the price and thought wow, then i saw play-asia & now have the above questions, I seen you guys use them before but am unsure

It'd be exactly the same as buying it in the UK... Sometimes the instructions are in Japanese but it usually states that if they are :)

THe only problem you may have is that UK games retailers like Game, Gamestation etc will not accept imports as trade ins, as they do not have the correct labelling for age restrictions. They still seem to go for the same price as a UK version on ebay however.

YES, it'd be the same as buying it in the UK..

From the website...

Release Date Oct 09, 2007
Language English
Genre Action
Version Asia

But as I said above, the instructions may be in Japanese...

I've ordered over 60 items from Play-asia. All have been genuine, all arrived within 2 weeks. I have never had any hassle over pricing etc. All emails answered promptly. Cancelling items is easy. Overall much better experience than any UK Retailer. Excellent pre ordering service where they do not change the price later. Finally great prices, excellent Website, what more could i say.

some people do get stung ordering on customs. to try and avoid this, make sure you order one thing at a time. the bigger and heavier the package, the higher chance of getting caught!
