I watched the first 3 episodes and was the most disappointed man on Earth ...did it improve?
#3
Actually it did get better, some of the action scenes in the later episodes were intense.

Most disappointed man on earth? That's some achievement, congratulations.

Considering i'm just after buying Band of Brothers on Blu-ray for 15.99 this is a pretty poor deal.

its on sky HD again soon

Not really. Mess of a show.

Better off buying Band of Brothers, even if you already own it. I'd rather have a spare copy of a show I re-watch at least once a year than something I will never watch again.

Different kind of show than Band of Brothers, don't compare the two.

A 10-part mini-series adapted from first-hand accounts, produced by Spielberg/Hanks with an ensemble cast of 'unknowns' set during the Second World War....

They're pretty similar, but even as a standalone piece it was still pretty messy. It was all very forgettable.

good price if you want it , but it was a very poor series.

it was dross, such a shame... might pay £15 for this if it drops. After the hype Sky etc looked like fools

Band of Brothers is 9 years old, when things get a little older the price comes down.
The Pacific is whats called a 'New Release' meaning the price will be a little higher for a few months.

Although this is true I would say that BoB is significantly better. I would not rush out to buy Pacific at that price. I think you won't have to wait to long to see this come down in price.

Short answer: No
#15
Such high expectations...such bitter disappointment...shows reputations (spielberg) count for nothing!!
Bet this drops below £20 befor Xmas.
#16
dvd is cheaper at morrisons ;)
#17
Must agree with the general comments. Was looking forward to this so much but it was a letdown. Some good individual episodes but overall disappointing. Will join the general wait until under £20 as IMHO its worth that.
#18
Agree with the disappointed comments; after BOB i was really looking forward to The Pacific but it was a let down. You really felt for the characters in BOB but I found it tough to work out who was who, let alone empathise with them.
#20
DOES IT COME IN A BRIEFCASE?
#21
£15 and I'll buy.
Then it'll sit in the 'hardly ever watched' pile.
But at least I won't have paid too a silly price for it.
#22
I really enjoyed this, and I'll be buying it tommorow :D
I managed to get some asda vouchers through the FIFA 10 trade in, so this won't be costing me that much anyway :D

Already got Band of Brothers on bluray ...a masterpiece!
#24
It might not be Band of Brothers, but it's a lot cheaper at launch than BOB ever was.

DON'T go to Sainsburys for the DVD though, was in Morrisons this morning and they have it for £19.99!! Bargain!
