Mel Gibson's controversial depiction of the final hours and subsequent crucifixion of Jesus. Filmed using original elements of Aramaic, Latin and Hebrew languages, The Passion Of The Christ is by turns spiritually uplifting, historically contentious and narratively horrifying but remains essential viewing.

An emotional epic which deeply moved audiences worldwide regardless of their faith or beliefs, The Passion Of The Christ is a dramatic film which everyone should see and experience for themselves.

Special Features
15 minutes of new, seamlessly branched footage
Filmmaker commentary - Stephen McEveety (producer), Ted Rae (Second Unit Director, Keith Vanderlaan (make-up effects)
Theologian commentary: Mel Gibson, Father William J Fulco, Gerry Matatics, Father John Bartunek
Two documentaries - one on the making of the film, the second on its impact

*Please note that I am posting this as a DVD - not as a religious statement wanting to start anti semitic views/arguments; as happened the last time I posted this DVD (at a dearer price). The remarks were removed by the mods and a few slapped wrists were issued. So please, remember it is just a film. Well, that's my opinion anyway. And I'm only posting it 'cos it's a very good price.

I'm sure the key thing in making this movie better is making it longer :-P

good price, though not seen it myself, more put off by the talk of how gross and realistic the torture is versus the religious content.

I've read the book. He dies in the end.

If you ask some people who read the book, they will say he did not die.

I guess you missed the last chapter then. He doesn't stay dead!

Great price, for an awful movie. The BBC version, or even the Robert Powell "Jesus of Nazareth" are far superior. The torture in this film is waaay over the top and not at all realistic - anyone would have died from the lashing inflicted here, which historically Romans would not have allowed. And further, Romans spoke Greek in the Eastern Empire, not Latin.

Gotta keep an open mind guys. Read the book, watch the film then decide if the benevolent zombie is your bag.

Outstanding performance of Mel Gibson. Some historical discepancies but overall a fine movie even for the non religious.
£2.99 delivered is the fear price for a DVD.
Hot for me, ordered

Why would "Christians love it?"

I can imagine Jews hating it though....!

Ordered this and found that there is no normal english subtitles like in cinema.
The closest you can get to understand what's going on is subtitles for hearing impaired but very few sentences are translated.
Is this a fault or just some leftovers?
I understand that there are lots of commentaries, but who wants to listen to MG talking rubbish for 2 hours?
