They don't have the publication year on display (or not as far as I can see anyway) so I would be slightly wary incase these are old(er) editions that have since been superseded.
The link does not appear to work, here it is direct:

I would doubt they could be too old and this type of book takes aaaages to go out of date.
I agree - was just pointing out that they may not be the latest version (I used to work in a bookshop and as soon as a reference book went out of date it was practically worthless).

Some of the books are probably older editions. I bought a set last time it was on offer and it's pretty good.

The "English Grammar" book for example has a publication date of 2000 (matching Penguin site), Idioms is the 2nd edition - revised in 1994 (current edition has a different cover and was revised in 2001) etc. Though TBH there aren't huge changes in language or grammar over these sort of periods of time.

Half the books are probably junk, however there are some gems, for example the "Guide to Punctuation" is very clear / well written and whilst slim is IMHO worth the £5 alone.

However the paper / print quality is cheap and nasty like a budget "Wordsworth books" classic novel - and have a distinct musty newspaper print smell of them - very suprising for Penguin!

HTH - Rufus.
They're also selling deeply discounted copies of
The Times: Complete History of the World £15 (rrp: £65) and
Concise Atlas of the World: New Edition £15 (rrp: £75)

I got both of these at that price from a cheapo book seller that comes
around at work every few months. They were quite recent editions and
quite big (physically, large) books.
