A young boy confined to bed with the flu is less than thrilled when his grandfather (Peter Falk) arrives to read him the story of The Princess Bride. It tells the adventures of Buttercup, the most beautiful woman in the world, and Westley, the man she loves in the fairy-tale kingdom of Florin. When Buttercup is kidnapped, Westley has to overcome some pretty tough obstacles if he is to rescue her from the clutches of three kidnappers - scaling the cliffs of insanity, battling rodents of unusual size, facing tortue in the Pit of Despair...True love has never been a snap.

One of my favourite films
#2
Really very good and my wife even liked it!
#3
Is this a film that would be suitable for children? If so what age range?

"Hello........my name is Inigo Montoya............................................You killed my father......................................Prepare to die!"

Of all the lines from all the films why do I remember that one.

Class film, haven't watched it for about 10 years but may be tempted to buy for this price.

Heat added.

"Inconceivable!!"

It's set around a grandfather reading the story to his sick grandson, so I'd have thought so. Maybe 8 upwards, as there are scary bits?

Lovely film for adults also.

Good for any age range, it really is one of the all time great kids films. (Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Neverending Story, Coraline, Stardust, Goonies, Willow, Battle Beyond the Stars, The Last Starfighter, Tron, etc)

The book is awesome as well.

Thanks for the replies my two are age 4 and 3 so maybe not quite ready for them yet, they don't like scary bits!

Haha! I wanted to quote that too!

Brilliant film, a classic!
- I remember that line too, but also the "I'm left-handed too" swordfight and the "colourless, odourless and tasteless" iocane poison, which gets detected at a sniff...

You keep saying that... I don't think it means what you think it means!

In the meantime, sleep well and dream of large women...

Cracking good film. Seen it again and again. Same thing with Forrest Gump, which also stars the gorgeous Robin Wright Penn. Both films currently on offer at £4.98 each on Amazon. My two favorite feel good films.

Fantastic film, I got it last time it was on offer - I would say it was suitable for all ages, my little lad has just turned 4 and loves watching it.

An excellent film at an excellent price. Thanks! I'm sure I will be driving everyone around me mad with quotes from this for the next little while!
