Great price for an excellent series, ordered even though I haven't got a Blu Ray player yet!

Be seeing you! ;-)

great show, great price

Love this show, great price, heat added. Wonder what the extras are...?
#5
Was this show recorded in high enough definition to make it worthwhile getting the bluray when I've already got it on DVD?
#6
Not my cupa tea but regardless of the fact that there is unlikely to be any improvement in quality over DVD, the package comes in £10 cheaper than the DVD box set.
#7
It was shot on film which has a much higher resolution than even blu-ray.

Complete overcharging - everyone knows its meant to be "free man" :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Correct, filmed on 35mm.

I suppose the quality will depend on whether they use the film or just copy it over from the DVD.

Of course not, why would it be widescreen ?

Just been reading about this release on this forum http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=497515 looks like the release may have been put back. :-(

For the benefit of anyone without a 35mm film projector and screen in your living room - this DVD is likely to be your best bet.

Blimey. Calm down. I'm no expert, just a fan. (Perhaps it was filmed anamorphic 35mm and the TV version was cutdown? - I don't know)

I don't see how this could appear much better quality than my DVD set played through my PS3 - which is excellent.

Don't forget 4% Quidco and the £1 voucher for registering with CD-WOW!

Oh dear, looks like this was a mis-price as it's now showing as £44.99. I have a feeling my order will be cancelled. :x

Because you're DVD, no matter how good, was encoded in standard definition and the BD will be in high definition. There's picture (and sound) information that simply won't be on the DVD, that's why BD's are 50gb and DVD's are 10gb

The ***** have cancelled my order, no further stock! It's a pre-order FFS! Strange that it's still available to order at £44.99 though, one thing I can't stand is blatant lies. :x

Anyone else had cancellation email?
