Oscar Winners Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs) and Emma Thompson (Howards End) star in this extraordinary and moving story of blind devotion and repressed love. Hopkins stars as Stevens, a dedicated English butler to Lord Darlington, beautifully played by James Fox (The Servant). Thompson stars as the estate's housekeeper, a high-spirited, strong-minded young woman who watches the goings-on upstairs with horror. Despite her apprehensions, she and Stevens gradually fall in love, though neither will admit it, and only give vent to their charged feelings via fierce arguments. Marvelously acted by a supporting cast that includes Christopher Reeve and Hugh Grant, The Remains Of The Day achieved an astounding 8 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress.

agree with all comments above, a classic film and I would also buy it if I didn't already have. One of the few films I've watched several times.

Thanks very much - Ordered - Heat and Rep given.

I almost arranged delivery to my local store, as it defaulted to that option from when i placed an order for a book during the recent hourly promotion.
However noticed that it's free delivery to a home, or work address at the moment.
Make sure you choose the right delivery option.
