I have been wanting this for ages, cheers!!

Got this from Borders for similar price just before Xmas, well worth £12.99 :-)

Voted warm from me, its £12.98 at Amazon and although you can get quidco and possibly RAC discount on this, reading the reviews and knowing what Play are like (only buy cds/games and regular dvds from them) Play are renowned for not providing adequate protection packaging.

Amazon may be slow (unless you are a Prime member) in dispatching, but one thing I have never been able to fault them on is packaging.

This is a package at a good price that fans of the film would like to arrive in fantastic condition.

Rep left for the OP though for the heads up on this which is a great price, and has alerted me of it at Amazon.

Yes I know Amazon are 1p cheaper but minus the quidco which tracks 100% of the time and the RAC which also works this is much cheaper - just send a note with order to protect adaquatly as you will return at thier expense if box set damaged, if your paranoid pay more and use amazon, the choice is yours

I have never had any problems with the packing , its more likely your posties fault than the packing.

I will do, just looking at a customer review on Play put me off, and if Play dont use cardboard outer packaging (just blue plastic wrapping) chances are it stands MORE chance of scuffing....

As I said rep left and thanks for the heads up....clearly didnt mean to cause you offense, which you appear to have taken!

*EDIT*

http://www.play.com/HOME/HOME/6-/UserReviews.html?rn=BlackBadAss&edtm=0

"The edition is, as you'd imagine, top-notch. The issue here comes from Play. The packaging used by them is a simple blue plastic bag, which doesn't protect it at all. Mine arrived marked and torn in several places in the outer protective clear plastic of the actual edition, where the title is shown in the back. The inner contents arrived safely, but that's a pity considering the high quality of the release, and the fact that using cardboard boxes would avoid this problem."

Think I will spend the 60 pence more.

hey no offence taken at all, I was pointing out that if you think there is a risk choose amazon you'll be happier - but I have never had anything from play turn up in a blue plastic bag before - bubblewrap bag yes.

Great deal, but yeah after reading from that one person that has reviewed it only a couple of weeks ago then it most certainly has put me off.

Although last week I did order two tubs of dvd-r and whilst bizarelly (i find this with Play Orders in general) they were both posted seperately (causing them more cost in their free delivery) they arrived ok, notably however both items were rattling around loose within an outer cardboard box, but at least unlike that link I posted earlier they were each in their respective cardboard boxes packaged inside large jiffy envelopes....still strange they dont seem to like packing materials to isolate items.

All other stuff, t shirts, dvds, cds have all been fine from Play (In general I would sooner give my money to Play than Amazon), just personally wouldnt trust their packaging on box set items without prior instructions to them for packing.

Did you know these are limited to 10,000 copies? http://www.timewarp.org.uk/shocktreatment/review2.htm

Hence why I am making sure my copy gets handled with kid gloves (Know that Amazon always cardboard box their stuff with a stretched over piece of sellophane taught over the item.)

I often order from play and had a very large LOTR collectors edition delivered a few weeks ago and was most annoyed that they decided to send it out in a blue bin bag, no bubble wrap or box. With a wind and a prayer it arrived undamaged (no dented corners !) - thanks largely this time to the postie. The postie even managed to save the day because Play had printed the address label so close to the edge that the house number was missing, but lucky our postie new the name.

Your post along with the one review definitely put me off ordering from Play so chose to go with Amazon and acrifice any Quidco, arrived and glad I did go with Amazon, packaging was wonderful. Cardboard box, no dings, item shrinkwrapped onto a cardboard packaged base and then plenty of bubble wrap pack on the sides and top of the box..item has arrived mint!
