Not quite as good as Revolver but better than For Sale. A must for any Beatles fan (and I am being deadly serious) - this album is awesome.

Following in the path of the Beatles anthology comes this offering of up until now unheard songs from the other fab four, The Rutles. Song's written by Neil Innes include some originally intended for the first Rutles Album "All You Need Is Cash". All songs are brilliantly Beatle like without actually being copies of any. The song " I Love You" is as good as any pop song would have been from the masters themselves. If you already have the other Rutles Album, get this one too. If you don't, then get both because you don't know what you're missing.

Good price - shame they have changed the original Beatlesque cover . Unfortunately most of the songs are more Neil Innes (circa 1976) rather than based on Beatle tunes.

yeah - original cover is better - disagree on 1976 NI comment though - Shangri La is probably better than anything Oasis ever did and that was mid 90s (if my old memory still working)

Not on this album but make sure you watch Cheese & Onions - just genious. Seriously The Rutles are the second best band to come out of the UK (and the damn fools don't know it) :{

Shangri La is the exception ; Innes even nicks back the intro from Oasis's " Whatever " which sounded remarkably like his "How Sweet to be an Idiot " - the rest of the CD is pure Innes . He came a cropper with the royalties made from the original Rutles CD as it obviously infringed copyright.

Nonetheless John - it is still one helluva album - and Neil Innes was The Rutles in such a way as Lennon was The Beatles (awaits various 'healthy' arguments in thread)

Totally agree with you Andy . Thankfully Rutles 2 was never shown in this country - it stunk
