Tim Allen makes an impressive screen debut in Disney's well-written seasonal film The Santa Clause. Divorced toy company executive Scott Calvin is pleased to have his son Charlie for Christmas, though the boy himself isn't happy about it. But when Santa Claus accidentally topples off the roof of the house and falls with a thud in the snow, Scott finds himself taking the merry old elf's place and earning new respect in his son's eyes. When the night ends, the reindeer take them to the North Pole, and Scott discovers that by donning the fabled red suit, he's inadvertently agreed to become the next Santa Claus. It's an enjoyable, straightforward family film, anchored by the affable charisma of Allen.--Bret Fetzer
Considering how lame a sequel it could have been, The Santa Clause 2 makes for a pleasant seasonal diversion. It's got the familiar smell of Disney marketeering, and more than a few parents will object to this further embellishment of the St Nick legend, but Tim Allen's amiable presence provides ample compensation. According to the "Missus Clause" in his North Pole contract, he can't continue to be the real Santa until he gets married. It's all as sweet as spiced eggnog, with that warmed-over feel of a mandated sequel, but the Christmas spirit does prevail with the sound of sleigh bells and Allen's rosy-cheeked "Ho, ho, ho!". --Jeff Shannon

In 'The Santa Clause', when Santa Claus falls from Scott Calvin's roof, his 'emergency card' instructs Scott to take his place. When Scott puts on the Santa suit, he takes on all the responsibilities of the job. In 'Santa Clause 2', after eight years of being Father Christmas, Scott Calvin, discovers that he must find a Mrs Claus, unfortunately this proves to be quite a difficult task.

I saw this boxset in CO-OP for £5 so not that great a deal if it's that price in other places...we ended up buying the boxset with santa clause 3 also included for £9 odd from Amazon....

Worth paying the extra for the full set in my opinion....

Sorry Cold
So how do you work out paying £9.76 for 3 dvd's is better that paying £5 for two??

You are paying on average £3.25 per dvd, whereas, this offer is £2.50 dvd
Lovely find and nice to know you have both choices on here of either the 2 or 3 film boxsets x
Just in case anyone cant make Woolies or the Co-Op I Spotted this at Sainsburys for this price too...

If only it was as simple as dividing the cost by 3.

The cheapest I have been able to find the 3rd film in this set in a very quick search is from Play.Com at 5.99, giving the 2 disc box set and the 3rd one for 5.99 a total cost of £10.99, where as the 3 DVD Complete box set is only £9.76.

Surely that's how you work out paying £9.76 for the whole set is better than £5.00 for 2 and then paying another £5.99 to complete the set........:x
