Tempting... very, very tempting!

EDIT: OK... too tempting! ORDERED!

This is a BRILLIANT film but I do get a bit fed up with all these editions etc. Fairly pointless in my opinion and a good deal if you havent already got the film or seen it on TV. But I cant imagine many people who havent.
#5
Another incarnation of a deal for this film, it must get the award for most deals for a dvd on HUKD.
#6
I'd rather pay the extra and get the blu-ray, bit pricey for an old dvd although very good
#7
I bought this for a bit more a year or so ago. The quality of this version is loads better than the standard version and definately worth the extra.

Im very tempted by the blu-ray version at £7.99
#8
I bought the bluray version this week, though I was annoyed to discover the audio on the UK version is only up to dolby digital. In comparison US region 1 and Australia region 2 both have Dolby TrueHD sound. Another case of rip off Britain?

Shawshank Blu-ray
Average Australian Price - $29.99 = £17
Amazon US = $23.99 = £14.67
Amazon UK = £7.98

Jump off the band wagon mate - or at least do a bit of research before you go spouting rubbish.

One of my favorite films, but the standard edition DVD has been selling around the £2.99 for some time now so this deal ain't anything special. If this is the cheapest this is out there in etherland then fair enough.

" 10th Anniversary???????? "

So..is this a 5/6 year old set or is the header wrong?

Either way...yet another re-package of a very good and engrossing movie which has been given thoroughly undeserved acclaim as " Best Movie Ever....":whistling::whistling: ............

The quality of the £2.99 standard edition is awful compared to this one.

Was looking on dvd.co.uk last night and see this for under £5 :-D looked on some other sites as I said not all and looked on here and it was not posted so chucked it on like I do most stuff.

As with most stuff it's upto you if you buy it or not, or want to buy the blu ray, just thought it was a good price for a 3 disk set of this :)

Either way - can you find the better quality version (with TrueHD audio) readily available in US/Australia etc in UK?

Thats good to know, thanks for the tip  Nevertheless I am still gonna hold out until I get Blu-ray before I replace my current copy!

What? Nobody was depating the availability of the TrueHD copy, you was implying that we pay the same/more for an inferior product. I was pointing out the fact our copy is almost half the price of the US and less than half the price of Aus, so nothing to do with "Rip Off Britain".

As a fan of the film, I would want the best available version, not to be provided with an inferior product, that is the point I am making - but anyway shall we move on?
