Brilliant film IMO

Fear can hold you prisoner...Hope can set you free.

City banker Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) arrived at Shawshank Prison in 1947. Convicted of two brutal murders, he received a double life sentence and discovers that when they send you to Shawshank State Prison for life, that is exactly what they take. Within the confines of Shawshank, Andy forms an unlikely friendship with the prison "fixer" Red (Morgan Freeman). He also becomes popular with the Warden and the prison's guards, as Andy is able to use his banking experience to help the corrupt officials amass personal fortunes. With an extraordinary twist in the tale, Andy finds that survival comes down to a simple choice: get busy living or get busy dying...

Still number one on the IMDB charts.
i love this film :-D
brilliant film. terrible dvd. get the blu-ray if you can - its a terrible transfer
Great film. In fairness you've been able to pick up this DVD for £3 on and off for years now. I actually got mine on a 2 for £5 deal in Music Zone before they went under. This is probably the cheapest you can get it now though, so no excuse for not owning it.
Voted luke-warm.
The Family Guy version of this film is much better.... and I don't think this DVD has
ever cost more than £2.99.
It used to be permenantly in Woolies' budget DVD charts for about £2...

A Lot of Shawshank before you get any redemption.
Probs the best DVD you can buy for £3 thats for sure
If you don't already have it then buy it

I voted Luke Warm - Great film; but this DVD is regularly at around £2.99 - I bought it a few years ago for £1.99. As has also been said the DVD isn't great - poor transfer and no extras.
Is there anyone that still does not own this great film?!?!

Well worth £3 for anyone that does not have it yet!!
Cold, been this price and lower for years!
I bought this from Asda for £2 just before xmas, love the film, possibly my favourite ever but I was really disappointed with the quality. I then bought the 3 Disc 10th Anniversary Edition just to get the extras and found the quality to be miles better.

Not voting either way as it is a great film that everyone should see, but its not the best price its been, and its poor quality compared to the 10th Anniversary Edition.
This is a good deal... my husband picked this film up on blu-ray in our local asda (Swindon) for £3.50 today. I was going to list it on here but I can't remember how (I am still a little new to all this!)
Pretty much standard price for this now.
Always seems to pop up somewhere for £2.99
Brilliant film.
everybody should have this film its great
Can i be the one who says i thought this film was "ok" - but yes it it hot at this price (is normally around this)
Horrible movie. Lifer digs lengthy escape tunnel with toffee hammer and no one notices. Almost as laughable as the scene where he gets to keep his teeth. People actually seem to like this melodramatic nonsense, I simply don't get it. Avoid.

Thats your opinion mate (although most people will disagree with you). Theres no need to ruin the film for people that havent seen it.
Don't forget quidco. Not much but every little helps!!!

You have every right not to like the movie; but why would someone blow the plot? I simply don't get them. Avoid.
