Excellent reviews @ Amazon

M Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense sets itself up as a thriller, poised on the brink of delivering monstrous scares, but gradually evolves into more of a psychological drama with supernatural undertones. Many critics faulted the film for being mawkish and New Agey, but no matter how you slice it, this is one mightily effective piece of filmmaking. The bare bones of the story are basic enough, but the moody atmosphere created by Shyamalan and cinematographer Tak Fujimoto made this one of the creepiest pictures of 1999, one that forsakes excessive gore for a sinisterly simple feeling of chilly otherworldliness.

Bruce Willis is in his strong, silent type mode here, and gives the film wholly over to Haley Joel Osment, whose crumpled face and big eyes convey a child too wise for his years; his scenes with his mother (Toni Collette) are small, heartbreaking marvels. And even if you figure out the film's surprise ending, it packs an amazing emotional wallop when it comes; it will have you racing to watch the movie again with a new perspective. You may be able to shake off the sentimentality of The Sixth Sense, but its craftsmanship and atmosphere will stay with you for days.

Excellent movie, but if you haven't seen it yet, don't let anyone tell you anything about the story before you watch it.

I wish I had seen this without knowing the twist, I guessed what it was from the trailer and it really ruined it for me. Still good but would have enjoyed watching it without knowing just for the 'ohmigod' factor

Annoyingly I sussed it 10 minutes in and had to sit and watch the rest of the film with an ex because I didn't want to spoil it for her.
Good price for the film though, I think that's the first time I've seen it sub £7.

One of the most overhyped films ever and a complete waste of 2 hours of my life.

Sat all the way through it waiting for the "really scary bits" everyone kept banging on about... nothing.

Didn't spot the twist but wasn't really paying that much attention as it was sooo flippin boring, only watched to the end as I'd heard how amazing the end was.... what a disappointment.

This is only a hot deal if you save yourself £3.99 by not buying it. If you really must see it get it from blockbuster as you'll never watch it more than once.

Hehe, well said, I agree with you on this one. Save the money and rent this (or download it ), you are not going to watch this more than once anyway...

What buffoon told you it was scarey? It's a thriller, I'm not suprised you didn't like it if you thought it was a horror film.

I really liked this film and expected a lot from Shayamalams other films but I found utter tripe, especially Unbreakable, what utter pants. Luckily this one was released first otherwise I would never have bothered with any of his films.

And don't get me started about 'the village'.

Goos price for an ok film.

I remember when it came out, very over hyped for what it is.

This films great I love them "OMG! No Way! I didnt see that coming!" endings.

I liked the village as well though, its one of them hate or love its. I really liked unbreakable, and I heard he's gonna script number 2, since it was origionally a trilogy idea.

I watched that recent one with Mark Wahlberg though and was really enjoying right up to the point were they say whats actually happening (Wont spoil it) then I was like, wtf?

Either way sorry to drift off the post good find

lol x I'm with you on that one, that is one bad bag of ****!

You'll love the fact that Unbreakable was supposed to be a 3 parter and he's trying to write the second one at the moment, personally I think it's the best one he's done.
