Complete and utter waste of time. The WHOLE of the summer school break is missing entirely, and even to search other dates the only way to search is to enter three different dates AND three different sites. So you do all that, and the search form returns "No results available for your chosen dates/places". What they have is four random locations which nobody wants to go to, on four random dates when nobody wants to go, and they're trying to flog them off.

So what's the catch? (Apart from the resort being full of Sun readers). Are they going to ask me for a code or a set of vouchers that were published in The Sun in January at some point?

Deals in France for July look pretty good. There seems to be a £6-£6.50/night service charge but even with that it's half what I was going to pay with Canvas Holidays.

There is something worse of course.

A holiday resort full of Daily Mail readers.

At least the DM readers wont be at the French resorts - they would say "theres too many immigrants"!!

BTW, the sun.co.uk website will become paid-for in 2011 according to someone close to the matter...

I would like to comment on the deal. I have been looking for a cheap caravan type get away for a few days over easter. We were looking at around £200, with this deal, the same site we can get the same site with a better caravan (I like to think thats what they mean by upgrade, we had looked at most basic so we could take the dog) for half of that.
Am tempted to comment further on the other posts in this thread but thats not really the point is it?
    Good deal.

This is a good deal, HOWEVER - remember to look at the actual parks to see what gets added on! e.g. To go Friday to Monday to Haven at Berwick or Haven at Haggerston Castle you add on £6.50 per night service charge, plus 6.50 per person per pass = £83 for 3 nights. This is probably the same at all the Haven parks. The Park Resorts Parks come to a around £70 (varies). These are still reasonable deals but not the £9.50 they say. First ake a look at a Hoseason brochure and look at the deals in the front pages. You can use more than one at a time and take whichever ones you merit and take that of the cost on the park page. I got a week at a parkdean park for around £85 at the end of March last year.

If you have an RBS royalties account book through the bank travel agency (they do Hoseasons) for a further 10% off.

    Good luck!

Don't know about the £6.50 service charge per night - never paid that and I've booked before at Berwick (mind you - it's been midweek). The service charge does take your eyes out, but the cheap deal compensates.

To be honest, the basic caravan (we take the dog) is freezing when it's cold, but I'm over the moon to have this booked!

    Cheers op! Rep left.

Well thanks for this .... I have just booked a nice 4 day break over easter....the site maybe full of sun readers.....lets just hope its full of little rays of sunshine too! either way I am taking my beautiful two boys away for a seaside break after a truly horrid year and I am delighted!!!

I have booked the bonfire weekend which we always go on at Primrose Valley and normally pay £200 for so this is a great saving...........

Is the price they eventually show INCLUDE the service charge or is that extra?

For instance just looked at party 4 and it was £60 (not 4x£9.50)

Do you still need tokens as FAQ still says
Q: Do I need to collect tokens from the newspaper?
Yes, you will need to have 8 differently numbered tokens to hand to make your booking. These are published daily in The Sun from January 9, 2010 to January 24, 2010. You can book immediately through this website using your credit or debit card. Please note that a £1.50 credit/debit card charge will be added to the total cost of your booking.

Seems like it is £15 per person for summer dates
Q: Do I have to pay for everything now?
No. We will only charge you £9.50 per person now or £15 per person for Summer holiday dates (plus insurance if you request it). Any service charge/entertainment pass charge will be charged direct to you by your holiday park when your booking is confirmed by your park/operator.

YUCK...... done these breaks a few times and will never ever do again. Not all to same place, standards so low in each, kept thinking may be had a poor site and it would get better but it never did. Mostly dirty, little to do if bingo and beer wasnt your thing, shoddy second rate entertainment....just nasty, each of them.

I'd honestly rather go without than try for a fifth time.

As much as I dislike the sun ( and daily mail, express etc ) I went on one of these deals about 8 years ago ( forgot how long ago it was until now ) .

Went to The Vendee on French Atlantic coast, mon-thurs in April on a recce to see if I would revisit the area. Stayed in a Keycamp van, middle one of three in the range at the time, which was fine ( apart from the noise of the rain on the roof at night ) at St Jean de Monts, near to Sable d'Ollone ( excuse my spelling, cannot be asked looking for atlas )

The resort was virtually empty ( and closed ) but we toured the area and had a good time, although the weather wasn't great apart from one glorious sunset. The ferry crossing was half price.

For the money it was excellent. Cannot comment on other parks, but French parks are, in general, of a far higher standard to ours, maybe we were just lucky getting a Keycamp van.

I would do the same again if I could find the vouchers in work's canteen ( and the Euro was a better rate ).

Thanks OP, Booked a Butlins break, I know it's not everyones cup of tea, but my little boy loves all the Bob the Builder stuff, so it's worth it to see him smile:)

A bit worried that I got half board and only paid £39.50 for the total holiday. (1.50 card surcharge incl.) It seems too cheap!
Also are we sure they won't ask for vouchers at any stage?
