BEWARE of this company: Just keep away from these - BFC is a fraudulent company, please do not get involved with or you will end up like me having to pay £74 (+postage+phone bill) for nothing. They trade in different names like BCA.

I am definite you will receive a bill if not in few days, in a years time....I am just one of the thousands who have gone through the ordeal, have a look at the link

http://www.britishcompanies.co.uk/booksforchildren.htm
The url is working now.

Summary - Recieved books which I never wanted, sent back through registered post in 2 weeks time and after a year Iam sent a bill....also lost money on premium phoneline as u cant get in touch with anyone on phone, you just go in loops in the automated service (which is done purposefully) and next is the Red letter from DEBT collectors adding another good 25% on top and if u talk to them all u get is - we just collect the money on contract speak to the company and we don't mind u going legal.

This again shows how crap the judiciary of this country is, a company who have conned thousands of people, trading standards & BBC watchdog aware still continue their money making spree year after year; as opposed to an individual who would have been straight into jail for few pennies, shameful isn't it?

I can't get either of your links to work.

I used to be a member 3 years ago and never had any problems. I got my free books fullilled my compitment and canceled all with out a problem. So I honestly wasn't aware others had had a problem with them.

Anyway this is a one off book with no comitments and you don't have to join or cancel anything. Just pay £1.50 when book arrives. Thats it.

Thanks for the warning Sheps. Seems like they're not to be dealt with according to this info.

Thank you for the link.

I am very surprised to read all of this as I and many of my family have at one time or another been a member of many of these clubs mentioned, and never had a problem with any of them. We all had accounts over 3 years ago so maybe this is a more resent problem.

Anyway it doesn't affect this offer because as I said you aint signing up for anything. It is just 1 free book and their chance to try and get you to join them, and I personally have no intentions of joining them anyway I just wanted the book for my we girl as it will fit in her pocket or one of her many bags that she loves to carry things around in :)
