Great film. Voted hot
#3
bsolutely boiling!

One of my fave films, and the documentary is worth the price of admission alone
#4
heh heh....there's a thing in ma pants...heh :giggle:
#5
Great film and as mentioned the documentary is really great. The commentary is also good if only to listen to Kurt Russel giggle like a girl everytime John Carpenter says anything.
#6
brilliant movie - see hmv also have Aliens for 2.99 - thats my fav film!
#7
Great film, The games where rubbish though!
#8
I liked the game of The Thing! It captured the tension, isolation and paranoia. Who's going to start bursting out of their skin, etc?

Possibly the finest sci-fi horror film of all time, and that's from a man that loves Alien. Top DVD features for a DVD of its age. I heard a while ago a sequel is on the way. It's only taken 27 years!!
#9
Yeah, the commentary is great....Russell and Carpenter are good mates, and much like the commentary for Big Trouble in Little China, this shows. I'd say the commentary track are only bettered by the Evil Dead commentaries (Bruce Campbell & Sam Raimi...nuff said) and any Kevin Smith commentaries (just for taking the p*ss out of Affleck!)
#10
Hot.

If I didn't have this already I'd be a'buyin'. Hot!
#12
Superb film. A must own at that price.
#13
This is my favourite horror of all time, I already have it but voting very hot.

SPOLIER ALERT

I hope they don't make a sequel, the whole point imo is that you don't know what's going to happen, is he the thing or is he not? Just leave it alone

The UK version isn't anamorphic, in case that bothers anyone.
#15
This is one of my fav films of all time, an absolute classic.

Why are they going to make a sequal, it doesn't need one. Most modern horrors are total pants anyway.
#16
Damn bought this the other day from HMV for like 4 quid or something. Great film. Classics of all time!!

You gots to love John Carpenter
#17
One of the scariest movies made.
#18

Thanks , just ordered one

It's me that heard there's a sequel planned, not cosmic-dust.

I read it in either the Total Film or Empire production news a few months ago. It was supposed to be a four part mini-series for the Sci-Fi channel and then it was going to be a movie prequel for cinema release. Not sure now though. Google '"The Thing" sequel' and see the gossip, including a good piece by Variety mag if you can find it online.

Alternatively read Dark Horse Comics' three comic miniseries sequels to the film, featuring the character of MacReady as the lone survivor of Outpost #31. The comics series was renamed The Thing from Another World. Found my copies on ebay.
