Threadless have just announced another one of their sales. The tagline says "as low as $10" but I've spotted one or two tshirts that are as low as $5

The $5 ones are rarely in stock. Voted hot though, I've just bought three "Tees" just $2.50 more than I paid for two last week... not bad at all.

Remember to keep your order low to avoid customs charges. :)

EDIT: They shipped within two hours this time, which is impressive.
#2
if my order total was $35 + 8.56 shipping = $43.56 will that get hit by customs??

would've been annoyed at myself if i was getting something shipped all the way from the states & only got all of 2 tees!
#3
i think if its below £18 before postage you are ok
:)
#4
yeah, if your order is less than $35+shipping, you wont get hit for tax
#5
Voted Hot, although even though I used to buy a lot from them, I haven't seen any that I've felt were worth buying over the last 10 months or so.
I actually saw someone wearing one of the same threadless t-shirt that I own the other week, can't imagine the chances of that are very high.
#6
Is shipping included for the customs limit? I want about 8-10 tees and cant decide how many orders to split it between
#7
damn my order is $40 + shipping. Worth the risk?
#8
If only they would allow PayPal! They'd get a lot more business! Hot.
#9
woop, finally a sale to spend my $57 street team points,

WOOP!
#10
Shipping IS included in import duty, so be careful.
#11
Thanks, I've been needing some more t-shirts.
#12
Can anyone confirm the limit in $ to avoid incurring an extra charge?
#13
I voted cold my mistake! some real bargains there though :)
#14
You can mark as a gift when you checkout and hopefully avoid any taxes. As they phrase it on the site:

"Is this a gift?
If this order is for friends or family, select "Yes" and we won't print the billing info on the invoice! Simple!"
#15
If your order is under £18 BEFORE shipping you will not be subject to tax, so as long as you stick to under around $35/$36 (check exchange rate) BEFORE shipping you will be fine.

I was charged about £12 last time for buying T-shirts of value $36 (even though I paid $33, due to a $3 voucher) - the actual cost was only 11 pence over the £18 limit, but I had to pay VAT plus £8 to the Post Office for the privilege of collecting it. Therefore stick to £35 max (before any vouchers, and do not include postage costs)

Also, note the exchange rate used is neither the current one when ordering or receiving, but one which is updated once a month by Customs and Excise, and will be the month you receive it. Therefore it is safest ordering at the beginning of a month, so you are likely to receive it that month and know what the rate is. The current rate is 1.9643, so max price this month is $35.35. See links at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/exrate for latest rates.

Know what you mean.. I have 10 or so tees from threadless, but there's just been nothing really worth buying lately. Especially now my size has gone up in price, arggh.

Voted hot though. They are good quality t-shirts if you find some designs you like.

You obviously don't live in London then :p

Know what you mean about London. not seen anyone in a Threadless T round my way but outside natural history museum last week saw one straight away. not liked any designs on threadless for ages but there are a few good ones now in this sale, but i am saving pennies, still voted hot though.
#20
I have ordered from them before and their stuff arrives promptly and is fairly good quality.
Voted Hot.
#21
Oh no, not another sale. These are not good for my bank balance. Last time I got hit with £14 customs charge, which was more than I paid for the tshirts! It doesn't take vouchers into account.
#22
About £20 minus p&p is about taxable I think.

The big sticker on the packaging tells RoyalMail how much tax is to be paid, they pay it on your be half, then charge you for the admin fees and on the behalf of them doing it for you.

Actually, I do. Are they that popular? I'd never noticed lol. :)

Never ordered from these before but got some cool designs. Was just wondering what are the sizes like on these? is a Large sized t-shirt in America the same size as here?

Cheers BigFish, that's really useful info about the exchange rate that hmrc use - Have some Rep!

Typical that I placed an order 3 days ago:x

I prefer the old sale, where everything was $10!

Still voted hot though - I tend to stock up on Christmas presents! :gift:

They have shirt sizes up on their site. But it depends on the tee really as the american apparel tees seem to be a bit longer than the threadless and FOTL ones.

I buy my normal size and have never had any problems with it. So if you take a medium UK size, I'd go for a medium US size.

Damn, got all the way to the billing information after having chosen some nice shirts, only to find it won't accept my 18 digit maestro card

I live in London. I wear my Threadless 24/7 (well, mostly to sleep cause I'm too lazy to change and they're probably cheaper than my PJs :p). It could have been me. ;-)

Hi sorry to go on but can someone just clarify this for me.

My total bill including delivery was $43.90. Am i right in thinking i will be charged..what an idiot..and how do they charge do they put a bill on the package for me to send or what?

I should have stuck to the two tees for my boys and not gone for one myself...greedy greedy.

It doesn't include the delivery charge, so I suspect that you'll be fine as long as your 3 t-shirts came to less than $35-$36 - which I imagine they did.
