£48.75 on the website...

The ultimate work of historical reference From cavemen to the Cold War, from Alexander the Great to global warming, from warfare through the ages to the great voyages of exploration, The Times Complete History of the World is the book that has all the answers, the detail and the authoritative text in one breathtaking single historical source. With over 600 full-colour maps and charts on a wide range of historical subjects and representing the work of a team of professional historians, this new edition continues a tradition of nearly thirty years of excellence, style, authority and cutting-edge design. This edition is internet-linked, permitting further in-depth exploration of key subjects. With fully up-to-date text, including material on Iraq and Afghanistan, terrorism, Israel and the EU, this book, edited by leading modern historian Professor Richard Overy, is broad-ranging and more visually enticing than ever.

Hi
Thanks for posting. It is good practice to also add the merchant and price to the title. It helps people who are just browsing through. And in my experience your post will get a few more “hot” votes.
Emmajk42 / Juliet_Bravo wrote a couple of very comprehensive and excellent guides for newcomers to HUKD here: - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/145906/newcomers-advice-on-hotukdeals-gene/

They are well worth taking a look at.
Kind regards Andy

Saw this for £15 in the Warrington store on Thursday, I thought it was good value then.

Not knocking the deal, I'm sure it's very nice, but isn't it possible that the term "complete" in the title is maybe a little optimistic for such a book only 416 pages long?

excellent find - thank you!!!

Bought 3 of these from the Book People last year for the same price for Christmas Presents - tremendous value for a very large, readable and well illustrated reference
#8

I can imagine the smiles on the faces of the children opening them up :santa:

Great deal but this is one of those things that people normally buy because it's so cheap, not because anybody actuually wants it (Chuckles excepted). I have boxes full of "Book People bargains"! Anybody still like Buffy?
#13
Be warned - this book is already out of date.
#14
bit misleading as it's £9.99 after the voucher.

Still good deal & good price, I just picked one up.
#15
Sounds good and at Kings Lynn!! WOW thats the first time I have seen a store listed that I can actually get to!! Super stuff
#16
Not voting, but not available in my local store. Has anyone seen it a this price in any other store?

Is there a way to find out if the local store has one before setting out to search for it?

Has now gone back up to £48.75. Shame, I would have liked to have bought one at £10!
#20

so, is it 9.99 or 14.99 before the voucher?
#22
Bought one of these too from the Book People, that was £15. Excellent reference book even if you just wanted to find out about a few things that you had heard about but didn't know any facts! For me that was the American civil war, the Roman Empire to name but 2!
#23
The price is £14.99 before the voucher.
As someone in the know - they are available in most WHS stores, and should be available online at http://www.whsmith.co.uk at £14.99 in the next few days

Thanks for that. All my local ones dont have them. The lady at the local cant order them either, she says if she does ill have to pay £75 for it, not the discount rate. I asked her the closest store that will have them and she gae me a 0870 number, called that, waited on hold for 15 minutes then opted to leave a message to call me back and no one did. LOL.

Will just order them at £14.99 when they go online....hope they dont charge delivery on top of that.
#27
Delivery free to home when you spend over £15, or free to any store regardless of spend. Might be early next week when available online.

Got mine finally for that price.

Mind you, the staff of smiths dont know sod all over the phone (cs or head office) they are dumb as sticks, i was told no store in the country has them anymore and that this book was never sold at this price unless it was a store promotion and it will never be this cheap etc. What a load of crock.
#29
the reason that staff might not know about it is that the link in original post takes you to a product with an ISBN different to the one that is on offer in stores. The ISBN of the book in stores is 9780007848485 (basically an updated jacket)..... hope this helps.........

Picked one up to day at WH Smiths in Braehead Glasgow for £14.99. They are on the stairs between ground floor and first floor instore. Had about 7-8 left.
