I'm kinda hoping someone can tell me that they can find this atlas cheaper. Please let's not have 'I can get a paperback for £3.00 from my local petrol station'. This is a quality product that has a RRP of £150.00 Feel free to offer alternative atlases that you have knowledge of.

The Greatest Book on Earth
Presented in an elegant, gold cover and slipcase and printed for the first time on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) paper.

For this new edition, all the maps and detailed thematic information are completely updated with the latest geographical and geo-political changes - these include an estimated 20,000 updates with 3,500 changes to place names alone. There are full updates to the world's states and territories as well as to the geographical information on the world's physical features - now illustrated with the latest satellite imagery.

The Atlas also begins with contributions from experts in many geographical fields, providing detailed information on the key issues facing the world today - climate change, environmental threats, global communications, biodiversity and energy resources - with supporting maps, images, photographs and graphics to illustrate the physical world today and man's interaction with it.

Finally, the unique scope and breadth of the index - containing entries to over 200,000 places and geographical features - also includes a comprehensive set of alternative spellings for place names and former names, allowing users to easily find what they are looking for.

Four years in the making, The Times Comprehensive Atlas of the World is painstakingly researched by a dedicated team of over 50 cartographers from Collins Bartholomew - with changes to the database made every 3 and a half minutes using a 24-hour-a-day news feed. The Atlas is relied on and trusted by governments around the world, international organizations including the UN and European Commission and media companies and both the Collins and The Times atlas ranges have won 10 major cartographic awards over the last 5 years. A new edition of the world's most prestigious and authoritative reference atlas.
Since its first edition in 1967 it has sold well over 1 million copies and its detailed and beautifully created mapping represents the perfect blend of tradition, authority and style which set it apart. Reprinted with updates 2008

which edition are you after? The pic is different to the book cover on the link. There's a 12th edition

Not sure if your deal is the 11th or the 13th?

I know it is a less detailed version but you can get the concise version of this for only £15 (RRP is £75) from the book people:

http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10051_151665_100_500020__category_

Not a bad price for what is still a detailed atlas.

Yes that looks a great deal. Not quite what I'm looking for, but perhaps you should submit that item

Yes, this is the version I got, same price too. Even though it's "concise"it's still a big book. They also do a Complete History of the World which complements it nicely, for the same price.
One thing to watch out for - the book being advertised is dated September 2007 so it#'s not exactly a Spring Chicken - though I doubt there are many new countries since then.

Yes I've seen those 2. Difficult to determine if Amazon one is latest edition though and it's second hand (although pretty much un read). Same really with Alris and although it states £2.75 postage from NY I can't really see that happening. I'd rather pay extra under those circumstances and buy from thehut or Asda.

Yes I'm not too sure how often these get updated.

The vendor there is www.bookcloseouts.com so I went' to their site. They have a copy for $99.99

http://www.retailmenot.com/view/bookcloseouts.com has a discount code DealGuild-10, which needs a password of bookcloseouts.com which gives a discount of $10 off orders over $65. It expires on 1st October 2009, which brings the price down to $89.99, or about £62.

Unfortunately, shipping to the UK from their WWW site is $167.52! I can't get it to quote a price for a US address. If you know someone visiting the US or Canada, then they might be able to bring one across.

Waterstones have the book for £97.49 including delivery, and there is a discount voucher:

Discount: 10%
Minimum Spend: £20.00
Promotional Code: US5924
Expiry: 28/02/2009

Which brings the price down to £87.74 with another 8% cashback from quidco.com and 263 Waterstones points. They have 20% discount vouchers every so often if you can wait.
