You can play them on PS3s and other stand-alone blu-ray players, but not on normal DVD players.

Great deal by the way :)

But surely these cost hundreds and hundreds of pounds while a DVD player costs £20. It looks like just another capitalist plot to extract money from working people for no discernible benefit.

A series that bears very little relationship to what actually HAPPENED (the truth).

Characters have been invented, dates distored, events that never happened shown as "fact".

This is nothing more than a "soap" set in medieval times.

They do at the moment, they will no doubt start to tumble in price in the near future

PS3 seems to be the best bet atm though compared to freestanding ones if you like to play games.

Thanks for the heat everyone

You can always purchase the dvd version for a higher price instead if you wish ;-)

I said "what a rip-off" and didn't buy one till they cost much less than they originally sold for, and until I could get one not restricted by regions. The continual shifting in formats is precisely a conspiracy to enrich the already rich at the cost of working people for no measurable benefit, other than the opportunity presented to young men in their twenties to brag to each other in places like this about how their Crapulatastic SWA-2300-Super 3400 series is better than the now-rubbish Feculent Hyper-G 8876 with added plook-drive technology, and how they got a great deal by only paying £599. all to watch rubbish like "The Tudors" which has already been on the telly.

How would I be saving money by buying this "super bargain" (recently seen on the telly) given that there's no way I'd pay more than £20 for a player?

It has never suggested it is an accurate portrayal - it is a DRAMA and nothing but!

It can only be bad if they share your spelling skills. :whistling:
