Just posted a 9200 just right for you! no dual x16 graphic slots, just the one but it will do you fine with that card till you have enough saved for a more radical card after Xmas.

Not exactly a bargain is it? It'll probably run like an oven so very hot!

Well its a hot deal and cheaper than Eavshams offering in Quad core ;-)

...yeah, good deal considering the specs....but not many people are going to rush out and buy it!

think i would rather change me car!!

Scarily that's really good value compared to something like an Alienware :)
I can only dream...
#8
Alienware, which is owned by Dell??

I like Mike's strategic use of the word "just" in the thread title!

Looks like a lovely PC though :)

I guess it depends on how much you want quad core but I don't think this is a good deal for various reasons:

- 'only' 2GB memory
- single dvd burner
- 7950GX2 rather than 8800GTX
- no monitor(?!)

What a beast :o When you think how much top end computers were around ten years ago though, guess it's the same for those that could afford one then...

I did post this with tongue in cheek, but it seems to have been taken a bit serious. Unless I am living in a different world to everyone else hell would freeze over before I could justfy spending that sort of money on a pc with no monitor....now where did I put that Euromillions ticket....

I suppose we really need to pair it up with one of these which are on offer this week at just £1026.66

This isnt really a hot deal considering the 8800gt's are out. quad cores go for about £700 by themselves on ebuyer =/. No monitor is also for the lose.

I still prefer their ultimate laptops :-D

If you go here (OVERCLOCKERS) you will get a lot more quality hardware for your money at roughly the same price.

INTEL CORE 2 QUAD EXTREME LGA775 @ 2.66GIG 1066 FSB
CORSAIR 2GB DDR2 XMS2 DOMINATOR PC2-8500 TWIN X @ 1066MHZ
ASUS P5WDG2-WS PROFESSIONAL INTEL 975X DDR2 MOTHERBOARD
BFG GEFORCE 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 GFX (ATI WHO ARE THEY!)
2 X 150 GB WD RAPTOR X SATA HD @ 10000 RPM 16MB CACHE
NEC MULTISYNC LCD 20" WIDESCREEN (THE BEST 20" THERE IS)
PLEXTOR PX-760SA 18X18 DUAL LAYER SERIAL ATA DVD/RW+/-
CREATIVE SOUND BALSTER XF-I SOUNDCARD 7.1
CREATIVE INSPIRE 7.1 T7900 SPEAKERS
THERMALTAKE VA8003BWS ARMOUR SUPER TOWER - BLACK
THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER 550W ATX2 PSU

ALL THIS FOR £2883

BUT REMEMBER THAT THE DELL SYSTEM ONLY HAS 1 YEAR WARRANTY, MOST THESE ITEMS CARRY WAY MORE THAN THAT. ALSO TO NOTE THAT WHEN PAYING SO MUCH OUT YOU CAN EXPECT A DISCOUNT. I HAVE HAD 10% FROM THEM BEFORE WHICH WILL GIVE YOU PLENTY OF ROOM TO ADD AN OPERATING SYSTEM AND HAVE THEM BUILD IT FOR YOU. WHICH WILL MOST DEFINITLEY BRING THE COST WELL BELOW THE REALLY AWFUL DELL SYSTEM THAT WILL OVERHEAT!!!

In this price range I would be looking at the 3.0GHz Dual-Core MacPros :-D
