I know hes had brushes with the law but not aware of any perving (unless dressing up as a dandy highwayman counts).

Bought this last time & well worth £3 - excellently cheesey.

Yes, it's a complete myth. Gary Glitter is a paedophile. Adam Ant most definitely is NOT.

I was at school when AATA were at their peak and girls were dressing like him with a silly white stripe across their noses. That was over 26 years ago and there's far better music to splash your money on now.

Well obviously people who liked their music back in the 80's when they were massive. What a stupid and unecessary comment, honestly. Music taste is very subjective, so it's ridiculous and somewhat patronising to say there is far 'better' music now. It is possible to like a wide range of music from a wide range of era's you know.

Voted hot for all those Adam Ant fans who haven't already got this.

Who would you suggest?

Scary stuff that people still want to play the likes of Ant Music, Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming.

Adam and The Ants struck a chord in the early 80's. They were' awesome at the time on TOTP's with the double drummers. They re-invented themselves from a punk band with a gimmicky sound and an appeal to mostly teenage girls. For me the music just seems out of place in the 21'st century. Having said that, there is one track that I don't mind...Dog eat Dog - which wasn't one of their biggest hits, but it's absent of the ant references.

Yeah I lived through the AATA era - he didn't do much for me, always struck me as a teensy bit effeminate but for £2.99 I steamed in last time.

Why is there a discussion about buying this CD? If people want to buy it, it's their money. If people want to listen to AATA let them. If we took such an idiotic approach to music by not listening to 'old' music we would lose loads of great music.

Let's face it AATA is iconic music, quarter of a century later it's being used in a Pimms advert! (I bet half of you are cringing right now) and many of us are smiling fondly when we see it.

Long live Adam (and his ants) I say. If you don't like it, just switch off your television set and go out and do something less boring instead!

Chindave, will you be coming back to retract this libel?

BTW, Is it still OK to support the Who or Jonathan King, or are they somehow better than Gary Glitter?

I'm 23, and i can say now Adam Ant is my favourite artist of all time. If you don't know anything about adam ant watch recently released documentary that was released with his autobiography (I'm on the DVD at the end!)

Listen to something other than prince charming and you might actually discover how great and varied their music is. In the late 70's Adam Ant was involved heavily in the punk scene and all their early work was a lot different to what you might expect.

Stuart Goddard is one of the most politest and nicest person i have ever met!

(oh hot deal btw!!!)

Hmm, Boy George was obviously a sausage jockey from day one.........all the girls at school used to say he was a faggot...........but with Adam Ant, they were all drooling.

:-D

He was charged with throwing a car alternator through a pub window and then threatening patrons with an imitation firearm (actually, his late father's World War II starter pistol).

By his own account, he was in an agitated state at the time and had gone to the pub to look for a man (apparently, the jealous husband of a female acquaintance) who had been bothering him with threatening telephone calls. When Ant showed up, some of the pub patrons made fun of his appearance :-D:-D:-D and told him that the man he was looking for was not present. Adam angrily told them he would be back before storming off and finding the car alternator in the street.

These days, of course, he'd sue if anyone made fun of how he looked..........how times have changed.

I saw Adam and The Ants live at the Dominon Theatre, London on Christmas Eve 1982 :) Bloody hell that was 26 years ago... I feel old.

Come on RedOnRed, someone asked you since you claim there's much better now to buy than spending money on Adam and the Ants, I'll repeat the question: "Who would you suggest?"

Or don't you dare answering it?

If you had admitted to having cloth ears in the first place, I'd have been more sympathetic.

You're obviously on some early 80's retro wind up.
