Long time lurker...

Nice Price. If I didn't have at least 3 Saxon compilation albums that EMI had released, I'd buy this.

I've seen them over 30 times live. True Barnsley Rockers..... NO, and never have been.

If you've seen the Saxon Documentary which got released last month, (2 DVD... there are less than 3,000 of this version left now, and before anyone extracts the urine... it entered the DVD music charts at No.3 behind Wacko Jacko and U2 a couple of weeks ago.

Biff, is from around Holmfirth. Paul Quinn, Sheffield way I think. Graham and Dobbie from the Doncaster region.

I know it's not a deal... but the DVD can be bought from http://www.coolheadproductions.com/SAXONDVD/

And yes... THE KINGS OF NWOBHM

Paul Quinn was the founder of the group, he is from Barnsley, and only him and Byford are still in the group who were in from the start. If that doesn't make them from Barnsley then I don't know what would.

Even so, have to say, I certainly haven't heard of Saxon as a group associated with Holmfirth. Sheffield or Doncaster. Thinking back to their interviews in Sounds and Kerrang from early eighties they were always associated with Barnsley.
