If you need a description you haven't lived! Suffice to say that Eric Carle's book is on most people's list of best children's books ever.

This is a small board book version that's ideal for little hands to hold and for poking little fingers through the holes in the fruit and all the naughty things the caterpillar ate on Saturday!

Awful book, awful illustrations, awful story, awful americanisms.

The story is predictable and uninspiring - I found Lord of the Rings more interesting.

As every child in the known universe has this book, get it off one of them or a car boot sale - It will only have been "read" once and the pages are shiny so you can hose off any vomit.

Coooold

Let me guess - you'd rather they read Oscar Wilde or watched Stephen Fry?

Plenty of rubbish books are like Harry Potter!
