Saw the news this morning about Walking Dead pilot being green lit - Seriously can't wait for that!! Hopefully they won't crap out of making it faithful, full-on gore fest adaptation

Yeah, it's quite a saving. I was looking at the two hardback set version of these. :w00t:

Brill Deal.

Great deal, but the fans are not gonna buy this cause they already own the volumes.
Anyway, it's a great way to get into this amazing novel.

Shame i've seen cold votes on this. HUKD fails again.

Fantastic series - 48 editions in one volume - couldn't resist..................

Ok - I got this - read it - love it.

I want to read the rest now and can't wait until compendium 2 is published .

I'll get the soft back 6 issues at a time (Vol 9, 10 and 11) that will take me up to issue 66. I would like to setup a subscription for issue 67 onwards.

Can anybody recommend a comic book store that will post out each issue when it becomes available. I notice acecomics sell them through ebay at £2.80 per issue including P&P. But I would rather setup a rolling subscription than remember to hunt down and buy each issue.

You guys must know of an online comic book seller that can do that .

My copy arrived today - absolute beast of a book, really looking forward to re/reading this (read up to about issue 21 before, rest is a mystery for the moment)

Brilliant. Shame book 5 costs almost as much as this but have to read on....

So is this hardback or softback? Amazon says softback but I can't imagine a book this size being softback.

Don't forget MTV is making a Dawn of the Dead TV series too.... may be pants but at least it's zombies on tv!

I've only ever read up to where they (spoiler alert) leave the prison.
This is very tempting.

What what what??? Zombies on tv? When? Love it - though have no idea what the book is as never heard of it? Haven't read any zombie literature - just watch it over and over and over dvd tv etc. Can anyone enlighten me about the tv series? Can watch zombies all day

"Zombies on TV" would be referring to the series that has just been greenlit based on this book (produced/directed by Frank Darabont of Shawshank Redemption fame, no less) and - apparently - an MTV series in the works based on Dawn of The Dead, though I know very little about this.

If you like zombie stuff, you would be commiting an immense sin against yourself to not get this book (or the seperate volumes, or however you want) - it's not just the best zombie comic/graphic-novel series ever, it's quite possibly the best thing on the shelves right now!

Read this, and World War Z, and you'll be a happier person ;-)

Just ordered from Amazon. Sod the penny!

For the comic buffs out there I've just finished re-reading Kick-Ass #1 - #8 and I fully recommend it (as long as you are over 18 of course), unless you are offended by gratuitous violence, swearing, torture and further violence.

For the more cerebral amongst you, try "The Unwritten".

That is all.

Cool. Thanks for explaining all that. Love zombie stuff but more watching it and hadn't thought about reading it (is it because I'm a girl? lol) Love reading so this is great. Will take your advice and go order it now. Rep added cheers!

PS Can't wait for it to come on tv though - along with DOTD remake just for the h*ll of it.. Went to see the original at the flicks many moons ago and again with the remake though wasn't happy that they weren't clunkers like Romeros!

The Walking Dead is quite an interesting take on the old 'zombie apocalypse' thing, as it's more about the people and how they deal with it, not just about a body count and gore.

I love gore flicks, but I found this really gripping stuff, disparate groups of survivors having to work together to survive, it's almost like a regular drama series that happens to have zombies in.

It is softback. There are hardback Omnibus editions available (splitting ep 1-48 into two books), but you are looking at paying at least £80 total to get the same amount of content as you get here.

Ordered. I really don't have the money but could not resist!

Love it - always finding myself wondering how I'd survive if faced with a zombie - what would I have to hand at that precise moment to smash their skulls in!

Got mine from amazon today cant wait to get reading this great value for technically 8 graphic novels. Just realised at comic book prices this would have worked out at nearly £100.
