an absolute bargain. I am watching an episode from the third series now. The show is well written/ acted and is very funny. I paid 46 pounds from DVD.CO.UK a few months ago, im glad I bought it over 140 hours of quality tv. VOTED HOT

Just a reminder for everyone, if you getting it as a present it will arrived damaged as play dont use packaging for large box sets "ever", got the wire 1 to 5 last week and it was totaly smashed, asked if I could get it replaced, they said yes but it would probably just happen again.

Crackin price tho if you dont mind the damaged box.

Amazing series, can't rate it highly enough! Finishing watching it for the 3rd time... Great acting, and the writers were Obama's writers... interesting parallel's in the later series!
#8
Best series ever! Bargain price too.

Great series; 3rd in the Sunday Times TV of the decade list yesterday. Re Play.com; I got the Seinfeld Complete box from them last week and it was well packaged in cardboard then in a a plastic wrapper so was not damaged.

I was just going to say the Seinfeld box was well packed. I was worried at first because it came in a big plastic bag but the set itself was in a sturdy cardboard box. Having said that, it's likely that this is how it comes packed from the manufacturers rather than from Play themselves - the box was a perfect fit for the set.

I hope they all arrive ok for you all then, I think I must just be super unlucky or something, Ive had the wire, 24, prison break, sex city, supernatural and several other large box sets and they allways are just in a plastic bag :x

I too got the Seinfeld box set and it wasnt damaged in any way. Sooo tempted to get this, been wanting to see this for years.
#13
I am spotting a pattern here tho, your all refering the the same box set, one of which I never orderd, the Seinfeld box probably just comes with extra packaging as standard then, but as I said I hope you do all get it ok, I just like to warn people as they have let me down repeatedly, I have never had this problem with Amazon, so I usually try and buy there, good luck all.

I've never had a damaged Boxset from Play.com in fairness.

I've had quite a lot from them aswell, maybe it's your post office that's the problem if everyone else's seems to make it okay in their packaging?

I'm so tempted to buy this, got a little bit into Season 3 a few years back and had in on Lovefilm, but cancelled my subcription for some reason at the time and never went back.

Heard the quality dipped massively for season 5 (after Sorking left) but then picked up again and the last 2 season's were pretty good again?

The quality didn't drop massively, but it did drop a bit. It didn't really pick up again till the final season, which was superb.

However, below par West Wing is still better than most things on TV.

If you haven't seen this, buy it. It's awesome, the first series looks a little dated, but after that it's fine.

Top show, Bartlett for President!

Game delivered mine months ago with zero damage!

My favourite series of all time, must have watched at least 5 times from beginning to end. Not as good in later series as when aaron sorkin was writing and rob lowe leaves but still excellent. characters remain true to themselves throughout 7 seasons...when watching back you can see this with Characters like Toby, you think 'that is such a Toby thing to say/do'.

I have an old tatty set of them individually, I've just treated myself to this nice neat box set as with quidco it's under £40 which I cannot say no too.

thanks, nice find!

My favourite TV series of all time. I paid more for one season, at this price it would be insane to not buy it if you haven't seen it.

Excellent show. Gets a bit confusing at times but the acting quality keeps you hooked.

can anybody who owns this boxset confirm a few technical specs?

I've read comparison reveiws saying the UK R2 boxset is missing some extra features for each season compared to the US R1 boxset, (£40 is the cheapest for years, was even tempted to get for £50 after reading all the great reviews about the show 2 or 3 years back) but what's really putting me off buying the R2 UK set is the Aspect Ratio of the picture, apart from Season 1 which is Non-Anamorphic for both R1 and R2 releases, from Season 2 onwards R1 boxset have all Anamorphic Widescreen which looks much better upscaled on HDTVs, UK R2 only have Anamorphic Widescreen from Season 4 onwards?

also R1 boxset looks like a true collectors quality boxset:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B000HC2LI0/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_all

also it being Anamorphic Widescreen for most seasons i.e. the R1 boxset, which leads me to believe they may even release a BluRay HD boxset in the future?

I didn't catch this when it was on TV, but bought this boxset for £49.99 earlier this year and absolutely loved it - heat and rep at this excellent price.
