- From David Simon, creator and co-writer of HBO's triple Emmy-winning mini-series 'The Corner', this unvarnished, highly realistic HBO series follows a single sprawling drug and murder investigation in Baltimore. Told from the point of view of both the police and their targets, the series captures a universe of subterfuge and surveillance, where easy distinctions between good and evil, and crime and punishment, are challenged at every turn.

Not as annoying as the place which shows random episodes of Prison Break, I can't remember what station it is, I think it is Dave, your so much better having your own boxset, what series is best I may take a punt and try it out to see if it is any good. ?

Eh? They've been showing the episodes in season order, three or four a week.
In what way is that 'random'?

Dear Mr Echo - Aug 26, 2009 15:17
Presumably you're asking about The Wire - I honestly don't think there would be any point in doing anything but start at the beginning and work your way forward. It's not the sort of thing where you can dip in at the middle and expect to get the full experience. Without the time invested in getting to know the characters and situations from the beginning - you'd be missing one of the main things that has made the series such compulsive viewing.
And just to say (again) that the BBC have been anything BUT random in their showing of the series... all in order and all pretty much at the same time and on the same nights each week... PLUS the omnibus of the weeks show in the small hours on Saturday morning. And since S3, no breaks between seasons. Between their reliability and Sky+ I haven't missed an episode.

I was just checking there and that's not the case for BBC2 N.I. They were chopping back and forth between season 3 and 4 there for a while, obviously playing catch up with BBC 2 national. Hopefully they play season 5 normally.
Apart from that it's on too late and there's faaar to many episodes on a week I'm just glad I've got the boxsets.

Was going to say the same thing, but I think theres a rule about if a deal has is 'so and so' old then you are allowed to repost it in order to 'notify new members'.
Anway, The Wire rules.
