Quite simply the best television show ever.

One of television's biggest phenomenons during its ten-year run, Chris Carter's THE X-FILES established a whole new genre of show, blending science-fiction with drama in a truly original manner. Contains all the episodes from series 1 to 9 of THE X-FILES.

"The X-Files" is the show which re-defined television. Although some episodes are a bit on the downside, the majority of X-Files episodes are true masterpieces which really challenge our "little grey cells" in a way no other TV program does. Great cinematography, great writing, great FX and an always amazing soundtrack by Mark Snow turn "The X-Files" into a chilling television experience.

I find it hard to comment on The X- Files because it simply transcends words. It's an intelligent masterpiece, an epos of beautifully complicated scenarios, plots and characters. The script, the actors and the direction make the most unbelievable seem believable and the unfathomable- unfathomably real. So thought provoking that if you really let yourself dwell in its essence, it can change the way you see the world, if only just by believing in the conviction that The Truth Is Out There.

That's a pretty good price. Play was selling the individual series for between £12 and £15, but this is cheaper if you want them all.

"Sale price is £109 less 5% Quidco discount."

Which means £109 should be in the subject and price box.
#3
^^^ Correct, OP updated to exclude quidco.
#4
Pretty good, cheapest I've seen them individually is £10.89 from sendit.com, this matches that. Voted hot!
#5
I've been watching the price on this set for a while now and with this low price decided to order.

I considered the individual sets but I think if you buy them you only get 58 DVD's compared to 63 with this box set.

Never used Bensons before but they get good ratings.

Very good deal

Great deal - just a little too late for me. I've got seasons 1-7 already, just bought them separetly at the best price I could find. Still, if you've not got these, it's a hot deal alright!

I don't mean to put anyone off, but beware this box has had bad reviews; discs floating around inside cases, scratched up, discs not working. I worked at an entertainment store and saw this being bought, and returned the next day,

Yeah that could be it. There's 6 discs in every series so there's 54 discs, but I think only about 4 or 5 of the series have a bonus disc, so that'd be about 58. Wonder what the extra 5 discs are with this set - I wonder if it comes with Fight The Future?

Could you point me to the 10% discount, the only one I can find is now expired. This would bring the price down to £101.70 inc Quidco.

Thanks

Registered just to say DO NOT BUY

This collection is made from inconsistent box sets, some are special edition while others are not.
This means for some series you will get better documentaries and others you will just get the shows.

It has also been noted that Fox is filling these boxes with recalled stock, scratched discs and stuff that doesn't sell at full price. The production values on this do not compare to other Fox DVDs like Futurama (excellent btw)

I would highly recommend, if you are an x-files fan to buy the series individually. Most can be had for £9, where as the more popular/recent ones are £15 at most.

The saving is minimal, and the box itself is actually very flimsy and poor considering what you're paying.

I got all 9 seasons from choicesUK for less than £90 (Quidco included). Unfortunately, the 10% off voucher for choicesUK has now expired, so this is currently the best price on the series!

I don't see how you can get any less content than the individual box sets considering that you get 5 extra disks?

I find that extremely difficult to believe, have you been watching too many x-files?

Well, my collection of the nine individual box-sets has 59 discs in it. Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 9 have seven discs, and seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8 have six discs. How many discs are in this set?

63, I had used the information for Series 9 that stated it was only 6 disks.

Anyone unwise enough to not heed Mulder's warning, go ahead and buy this and see how disappointed you will be with what you get for £109, read the reviews on amazon to see how totally shoddy a set this is, nobody is happy with it

I'm buying them individually and have the first 5 seasons so far, and the lovely thing is, it works out cheaper to buy them individually the way i'm doing it, i'll have all 9 seasons for £90-95 :)

Looks like if you want the extra disks you need to accept some poor quality packaging.

That is unless they have improved it, the advertised release date is 30 October 2006.

The most recent Amazon review was dated 23 April 2006?

I'll let you know when it arrives.

The box set finally arrived today.

First of all, there are not 63 disks in this set just 59 as you get with the individual sets. In fact, you actually get the individual M-Lock sets in a presentation box. Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, & 9 have seven disks and seasons 5, 6, 7 & 8 have six disks.

The likes of HMV & Choices etc are mis-selling when they describe the set as having 63 disks. I suspect somebody assumed that each season had 7 disks to come up with a total of 63. The error has been repeated by copying of the original incorrect description.

Mine arrived in perfect condition, sealed, no floating disks, no scratched disks and the packaging is fine. I am not sure what packaging people expect but the outer box is designed to look like an evidence box similar to those in the x-files, it's a box with a lid much like a shoe box. Inside you have your 9 M-Lock sets, I suppose if you don't like the outer box you can throw it away and will be left with nine loose individual seasons.

If you can get the individual seasons cheaper then fine, but the packaging is not a valid reason not to buy the complete box.

Post 15 claimed that this is made from inconsistent box sets, that is utter bull, the disks are all brand new and of a similar and consistent design.

As for Bensons, they emailed confirmation of despatch last Friday 13th April but they didn't actually despatch until Friday 20th. When I requested a delivery tracking number by email on Wednesday 18th, phone call on Thursday 19th and another email on Friday 20th I received no reply. So their communication is not the best.

But I'm happy with my new box set, just need a few spare weeks to watch them all! (again) :-D
