The title is not very presentable at all.

It would be better if it were as;

Super Mario Maker - Inc. Artbook (Wii U) - £26.95 @ The Game Collection (With discount code 'GRATEFUL10')

get a life, it's perfectly fine as it it!

Yeah man, keep ya beak out!!

Good deal and the best, well worded title ever to grace hot deals! 8) i brought this game digitally, I was hoping to love it like Boulderdash 4 Construction Kit on me Spectrum 128k but... it bored me. I think its an age thing. I would have loved this game at about 13 years old.

Fireballs added.

am so tempted is this best deal at min?
Possibly the best deal at the moment is through Smyths. They have the 1GB C chassis model with the Uncharted Collection for £279.99. You can get ~£8.80 in cashback through TopCashback and sell the Uncharted Collection to CeX for £14 leaving you with the PS4 costing a sniff over £257.
Edit: Or, if you have a Smyths local to you with stock, you could get two copies of Little Big Planet 3 instead of Uncharted. That'd get you £20 from CeX.

I had one, CUH-1216B, finding it a lot less glitchy than the 1st gen.

This game has been delayed for so long now i thought they weren't bothering with it anymore. I've read a couple of previews and both mention awkward controls and ordinary graphics.
The first game was groundbreaking for its time, hard to think it now but i remember mates being wowed by this...https://media.giphy.com/media/uX8Vrgh4wckCs/giphy.gif

Any new control system gets reviewed as awkward because of the learning required. But sources suggest a small amount of perseverance brings its rewards with this one.

The previews that you're seeing will most likely be early impressions from the game's E3 2015 showing; it's been substantially improved since then.

It's also only had a single delay so far.

Nearly £30 for one ten year old game? **** off. Both Halo and Uncharted included multiple games running upto 60fps along with other improvements and cost £35 or less at launch. This 30fps "remaster" is an absolute rip-off in comparison.
It costs more because it's a Nintendo game otherwise it'd be half of what it's going for. Still, this is the cheapest price out there for anyone who wants to get a legit unaltered version of Twilight Princess (TPWii is mirrored).

I was looking forward to this but the whole Amiboo nonsense has put me off buying it, paying full whack for an old title is already taking the Michael so there's no way I'm paying even more for the version with the toy to unlock all the content.

Not bad, glad I got the Amazon £35'er. Selling the Amiibo and CD - I want to make the game as close to free as possible.
If the rumours are true then there's DLC content on the Wolf Link amiibo so if you open and then still want to sell it there's CeX, plus it's not like it's worth much since the RRP is 14.99€ (in UK it'll be the standard RRP which is £10.99).
Sweet, so if i tap the wolf NFC once it unlocks the DLC and then i can sell it? I.e dont need to keep using it to access the DLC
Not exactly. Most amiibos have a metal clip blocking users from using the content so it requires to open the packaging. As I said most, from what appears the Shovel Knight amiibo seems to be the exception.

To do that you'd either have to remove the Amiibo from the packaging or tamper with the packaging to be able to scan it. Either way you'd hurt the resale cost.
Precisely! Last year I sold all my amiibo unboxed figures to CeX (about 10-15 or so) and got £185 back in cash. This was when amiibos still had resale value.:)

I like the physical version of the game at this price. I can buy it, complete it and then get Cex to beat my other local game shop's trade in price, which would currently be £17. Hot from me.

That would require walking into CEX, though. :p

I have the PS3 and Vita versions but I'm still tempted by this.....may wait to see if they release a PC version like rumored.
Has that been rumoured? Haven't heard anything about it, but it would be great. Was just looking at all the FF games on Steam this morning and thinking they could easily add the PSP versions of I & II and the PS4 version of X and X-2 and then, once IX has been released, there would only be XII left and then all the main numbered games would be available on PC! Not all the ports/remakes are great, admittedly, but being able to play them all on the same platform would be a first. XII is the only one that hasn't seen any kind of re-release on anything other than its original platform (PS2). I was also amazed that XI is still going, especially now that XIV is out, and that you still have to pay monthly for it!
See here :)http://gearnuke.com/final-fantasy-xx-2-hd-remaster-listing-leaked-pc-coming-steam/
Ah, interesting. That's as good as official then! (Unless something happens to make it get cancelled, which wouldn't be surprising with Squenix.) Wonder why there's a new listing for VI though? That's not the app ID of the version that's already on Steam.

Agreed.
Disagreed. Enhanced versions of games have been getting released for decades. Nothing new here except now there's obviously a bigger backlog of games and more effort is being put into the remasters, which is a good thing. And progress doesn't happen in huge leaps, it's continual. I don't think that affects sales because if everyone always waited for the next version no one would buy anything ever.
That money they are investing in remasters should be spent on new games instead. It isn't free to remasters and it takes time and money to make them that are better spent on new games. Just look at how broken AAA games are nowadays and that money could be spent improving new games not old. If you want to play old games then keep your old console. Simple.
Well I don't think that games should be released broken either, but there are enough games developers out there to work on both remasters and new games, and if those working on new games can't manage to finish a game before it's released, that's down to bad management on their part. It's usually down to time rather than money - studio pressure to put a game out before Christmas, say - but I don't see why another developer should come to their rescue. I mean this FFX/X-2 remaster was made by Square Enix, with the bulk of the work outsourced to Virtuos, a small Chinese company that seem to specialise in mobile versions of console games but also did Fable Anniversary, while at the same time Square Enix were developing Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, which wasn't released broken, and FF XIV: A Realm Reborn, which was a huge improvement on the original, and they've managed to make the Kingdom Hearts remasters all whilst working on FFXV, Kingdom Hearts III, World of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest XI and now the FFVII remake. Compare that to Rocksteady, who worked on nothing but Arkham Knight for 4 years, and still managed to botch the PC version - I don't think that would have been avoided had Square Enix not spent money remastering Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.

Also, it's not just a case of 'keep your old console to play old games' - what about people who never had the old console in the first place? Who didn't play the game when it was first released? Who weren't even born? Remasters are for those people too. I never had an N64 so I missed out on Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and was very glad when they were ported to the GameCube. Likewise, I never had a SNES but I've played loads of SNES games now thanks to the Wii's Virtual Console. And, even though I have had a PS2 for 15 years (it's still set up under my TV) I actually did not own a copy of FFX until this remaster came out and I bought it for the PS3.

Whilst your point is valid and well made, quite often, these games are from a year or two ago. As a console comes to the end of its life, gradually people will realise that the later games (such as GTA V on PS3/360) will just be re-released on the next console when its out in less than a year.
I didn't bother with The Witcher 3 because an enhanced edition always follows. That won't be long in arriving after the GOTY awards. The danger is that if/when more people start to think like that, the initial figures will be poor, meaning that less funding is available for such things. Long term, that is a legitimate concern. It also stops/delays companies from developing new IPs, instead focusing on the tried and trusted game and just improving the graphics.
When the best games on a current console are the previous console's games, that speaks volumes.
I think you might be combining two discussions there - there's a big difference between a GOTY Edition and a HD remake/remaster. I'm the sort of person who will wait for a GOTY Edition for any game that's going to have expansions or a lot of DLC, but personally I think that's because I've always got a huge backlog of games that I'm trying to work through and also because I'm a bit OCD about having to have every piece of DLC, whether I'll use it or not, so I like to see the dust settle before I jump in. That and the later you buy, the cheaper it will be. But the main reason I haven't bought The Witcher 3 is simply because I haven't played the first two games yet - have them, just haven't got round to them. If money was no object I wouldn't have said no to the game and a season pass on day one, because that's the same thing as a GOTY Edition in the end.
But HD remasters are another thing entirely. Some old games just aren't playable - both in the sense that people won't play them because they just don't play old games, but also because they just don't work on new systems. I guess the number of remasters has been on the rise for the last 10 years because we've now had two generations of consoles with terrible backwards compatibility and this is a good way to ensure that the best of previous generations is still accessible (and, yeah, sure, make a bit of money). And this isn't a remaster of a 1-2 year old game - FFX is 15(!) years old and X-2 is 13 - it's basically one remastered version released on the PS3 and the PS4, which is great because neither of those consoles play PS2 games so now these old games are accessible again, the PS4 version looks slightly nicer (I know the PS3 version gives you the choice of 720p with AA or 1080p without but the PS4 can do 1080p with AA, not sure if there are any other differences) but it being on PS3 as well means it's available to many more people. I don't think there's anyone who bought the PS3 version who wishes they waited for the PS4 version as they're so similar, and for those that do, you can just trade your PS3 version in for the PS4 one and copy your save game across.

It was HD masters and re-releases in general. It won't be something that happens immediately, but over time... very possibly.

Great price! Think I paid more for the PS3 version, which I still haven't got around to playing. This just makes me wish I had a PS4. When XV and the VII remake are out I'll probably take the plunge and get this as well.

Also, can the box record like sky box?

The channels & are technically hd but not full hd. Good enough imo. No there's no recording options.

If you still have a WHITE Now TV Box then I'd recommend spending the extra and getting the new BLACK Now TV Box with a 2 month Movies pass for example at £15 from Tesco.http://www.tesco.com/direct/now-tv-hd-digital-media-streamer-with-sky-movies-2-month-pass/375-4063.prd
with at least 100 bonus ClubCard points and possibly 200
[This deal was on HUKD but I can't find it now.]
The black box is a lot snappier navigating its interface; has benefit of wired as well as wireless Ethernet; plus has 1080p box support [though it doesn't increase the streamed content's resolution!]

Do you know if it allows you to play Spotify via your phone?

I have movie and entertainment voucher on my account, they are not that keen using vouchers all the time, but been with them 12 months and always used vouchers with no prob, cheaper than sky itself, I love my little box. upgraded to the black one, faster than the other.

is this suitable for a 6 year old?
I'd say yes - it's PEGI12 as it basically creates anything you write, with verbs etc - there's nothing sexual or containing swears, but you can create an armory's worth of weapons. There's no blood or violence (anything that "dies" just disappears in a cloud of smoke), but you can for example type in the name of an animal and then type in the name of a weapon and use the weapon to attack the animal. It depends on the user's personality. Watch some videos on Youtube, you'll see what I mean.
EDIT: from PEGI site: It contains: Non realistic looking violence towards human characters

Thank you
I'll check some videos on Youtube

It's a great price for a great app... but for me it's must-have as a digital purchase. If you intend to actually use it regularly (which is what it is intended for) then don't wanna be disc-swapping all the time. It's worth paying the full eshop price for this as it is an excellent companion for all-over fitness, particularly if you need to improve your core as so many activities are based on engaging your core for stability and control.

Sure, it's not a body-building app, it's far more holistic in it's approach to fitness, at the expense of bulk.

Indeed, they're certainly claiming as much. It'll probably show up on the Nintendo store, though, at least, and it's of course worth keeping an eye on overseas retailers that ship to the UK/source non-UK stock - Amazon, Coolshop and Gameseek may well do so, among others.

I ordered the PS4 version from them an hour or so ago and the email confirmation says "Destiny - The Taken king".
I assume this is the legendary version, there isn't more than one Taken king release is there?
You might have a point there. The taken king was originally a DLC, but i suppose that would rarely just be on disc. I checked amazon and cant find a non-legendary edition on disc.

scouring bungie's site for support seems to show very little;

What does type 0 mean?

It's japanese for "We are still naming this junk as weird as we can because in japanese culture cliche and kitsch is cool, and we are hoping it's still the same in the western culture even though this BS ran stale 20 years ago".

Also check out the kingdom hearts game names. It quite literally doesn't mean much but weeaboos will pretend it has some of the deepest meanings possible.

Great price, I'm getting allergic to discs now though.
Yeah I know what you mean. I was totally against digital in terms of resale value and what not. But if I could swap my entire physical catalogue for digital, I would.
if it's a game I know I'll always want to play/keep e.g. GTAV, Fallout etc then I don't mind digital providing it's a reasonable price. Otherwise it's disc all the way, finish it/sell it..I don't mind getting up to change a disc now & again :)

Physical is good, but I never buy a game on a whim so never really want to get rid of them. The thing about digital is the fact that every game is effectively half price if you have someone to share home Xboxes with :)
