This is the best article on what you actually do in No Man's Sky that I've read. HOW I SPENT TWO HOURS IN NO MAN'S SKY -- IGN FIRST Sadly, the talk of the day seems to be that No Man's Sky has been delayed until later in the summer. Still, at least it solves the "can I afford Mirror's Edge Catalyst AND No Man's Sky in the same month" dilemma...

Is it just me that thinks all these planets will amount to a whole lot of nothing? Granted it is more or less infinite.... But if the things you can do on each planet/in the game is limited then what's the point of infinite variations of the same thing? You can only texture swap and add an extra limb to a creature so many times.
Maybe this just isn't a game for me, in a similar vein to Minecraft. Is this just infinite randomly generated worlds?

Same thing as real life really - there are a LOT of animals with four legs but look at the variations

Plus the animals and plants etc are governed by their position to their sun etc again I suppose like real life

So to me this sounds really exciting - But we won't know until we try it
Star Citizen is the one to get ( maybe not in 2016 though.)
Most anticipated beardy game of 2016
The most anticipated game of 2016!
By you, maybe.

I enjoy difficult games but there is a limit for everything.... Is this like trying to play rFactor on a controller or can it actually be enjoyed without having a wheel?

I got mine today and it took me over an hour before I could complete a stage, but I'm getting better. Tempted to buy a wheel now though!

I got this game for £43 i feel robbed and i would also feel robbed at this price. It has no real online content at all, it's boring and for me was no fun. You can't even do simple things like race friends ghost ect.
I usually find online races a bit of a waste of time, its either bumper cars or a tuned car that everyone uses and dominates the rest of the field, I'd much rather have a time to beat and try to better myself.
A ghost is better then just a time. If you like online games avoid this game, believe me!

But if you love rallying buy it - this is an epic game, very hard and very realistic. My son isn't keen, I think it's the best rally game since the originals. Just need to modify my wheel mount this weekend to make the most of it.

Oops just liked your post when I didn't mean to lol, anyway of course your entitled to your opinion, I personally find ghosts a bit off putting, but for me it's one of the best racing games in a long long time.

£20 is my limit for remakes/re-releases, but damn if this isn't tempting. Favourite Zelda game.
It's bound to hit the Selects range sooner or later.

Bit of a gamble given they appear to be rolling the NX out next year. If you look at the Gamecube and the Wii they are very hit and miss for later titles becoming Player's Choice / Nintendo Selects releases. Big ones missed include Zelda Skyward Sword on the Wii and Twilight Princess on the Cube, as well as plenty of others.

This will be this price in years lol. hot!
Great price for a great HD re-master. Great! ;-) Heat, thanks.

Loadouts, super shotgun more effective than the rocket launcher, no 'best guns scattered around the map', dudebro taunts and end of round dancing crap, another generic shooter with demons which is a shame iD Bethesda had to resort to this as I was looking forward to it.If it was made by Activision it would be called 'Call of Duty : Demon Warfare'. And to put the nail in the coffin in terms of ps4 sales, it releases a few days after Uncharted 4!

Disagree entirely, games need to establish themselves, doom is established but needed updating - in doing so, people like you are confusing this for 'ripping off' other games. Doom came first, it paved many of these games you suggest its trying to be. The updates in my opinion are overall very welcome! Without the additions, the game would too bare. Quake live is a great example of this. I hope this game does well and loses this negativity that is being generated by people that think its not original... Just enjoy gaming people. RANT OVER. See some of you in-game on May 13th :)

Doom is already established within the gaming community, it doesn't need "updating" with generic loadouts and dudebro taunts and dancing crap akin to the type found in halo 5 and black ops 3, by doing this the multiplayer loses it's identity and becomes just "another shooter".

This game is trash, its a large full priced demo with search and destroy game mode

Wow ill soon be breaking 1000 hours. Thats some grinding on a demo. I must have a word.
crackshotkv
stuartwood10
If the operators did not require grinding for in-game currency and were available to everyone from the start (Again look at DoTA2), then yes it wouldn't be a problem since everyone would be on an even playing field.
This is misleading. It's no different to any game having unlockables to work towards. Beginners can unlock new operators for a tiny amount of points,
Except unlockables in multiplayer creates a grinding treadmill that affects balance. It's closest (and more popular) tactical-shooter competitor Counter-Strike does not do this. There is no unlock tree or secondary currency to mess up the balance. It's also what affects balance in CoD and Battlefied, creating a divide between those that play for time rather than play for skill.
stuartwood10
if you watch the tutorial videos and play for 1-2 hours you'll easily have enough points to unlock 4-5 operators. Unlocking the remaining operators is an added incentive but they are by no means essential. Generally any of them can help win a game, even recruit.
So then why is this even implemented? They should have just had those operators unlocked from the get-go to give you a level-playing field. The 'incentive' should be the actual playing of the game not the skinner box-esq grinding nonsense employed by many F2P games. Leave the drops to be only cosmetic (again like Counter-strike).
stuartwood10
Generally any of them can help win a game, even recruit.
And I sometimes win games of CS with knife only, doesn't mean I consider that an advantageous position.
stuartwood10
I generally only use Thermite, Sledge, Rook, Castle all of which are available within the first few hours of playing.
Not everyone has that preference, they should make it available from the get-go. Again, see DoTA2 - all 100+ heroes and their perks are available at the start (no grinding or pointless currency to earn) to accommodate all playing styles. Not to mention in games like this, team composition is so important. Every operator has a critical role and ideally should be selected carefully (again like DoTA).
stuartwood10
There's nothing "free-to-play" or "shady" about R6 Siege yet this misinformation has been spread around since launch. It has plenty of content and is a steal at this price. (though unless you pump 100's of hours into it you'll probably want to get the season pass for instant access to the new operators - not because you're disadvantaged by not having them, but because you'll want them as the game is so good).
It's not misinformation, it's just basic game balancing. For a balanced/competitive game (which Ubi are trying so hard to push this to be) you don't gate gameplay elements behind grindwalls/pay walls. The teams should be able to have access to all the operators at the start and not pad out the content with time-wasting grinding. The fact that they have shortcuts for real currency is shady F2p BS in a full priced retail game.

Complete waffle. 0% logic or sense. You might as well sell your console I wont bother explaining why either.

I wish I got this instead of bf4 premium. Paid £15 for premium and no one f'in plays it! What a jip! should be taken off ps store.
Um there is a far bigger battlefield 4 community on PS4! Don't know what game modes/maps you were attempting to play as I rarely have a problem.
Definitely has the wrong filter setting on. It's still pretty full/popular for a fps game that's nearly 3 years old.

Ikr! Just go on server browser and there are hundreds of lobbies there to see!

Its this price for a reason.

Go and buy BF4 and enjoy yourself.

To compare this game to BF4 is silly. I'm a huge BF fan but they are very different games.
Saying it's trash is your opinion, and whilst many will agree there are many that will disagree: like myself.
The point of this site is not about reviewing games and more about if it's a deal or not. At this price, it's cheaper than everywhere else as far as I can tell. So as I had said previously, it's hot!

I tried the beta, had a bit of fun. But overall experience it felt like a free to play game.
Wouldn't spend money on it.
Up until seeing this "deal", I was under the impression it was going to be a free to play game with microtransactions.
It would do well as a f2p game. But as it sits everyone will buy over watch instead.
You say that but having Googled overwatch, it's described as a stripped down version of this.
What's overwatch offering that this isn't?

More hype :P
I just see over watch on more articles that seem positive. I'm not interested in either game.

This is specifically for collectors and people who want to sell to collectors
It's a standard Wii U game. Why should we all be expected to vote hot because Nintendo either stop printing games or keep their prices too high. The top and bottom of it is that the selects version also includes New Luigi U and is £5 cheaper than this. You people who have been put under the Nintendo spell feel free to vote hot and us people who don't think it is a deal will vote cold.
The OP messed up and was clearly trying to be smart as you can tell by his/her title and description.
He wasn't trying to be "smart" at all. To some, whether it's a select cover or not is quite a big deal.
You don't want an entirely blue collection then pick up a red.
Better not buy Super Mario Maker then, it's yellow in the side of the box!
Ha ha lol, I've got mario maker and it is the only yellow box I have, all my other games are blue, including super mario and luigi u! I'm not a collector, I just like things the same and in order! They should have made mario maker a blue box, then I wouldn't have to feel sad or odd!

The irony is that if you pick up the standard blue game (ie this deal) because you don't want the red select, you will have to buy the Luigi green one to complete your collection! (_;)

And that game is genuinely rarer as was a digital game mainly and physical copies were produced on a very limited run. Usually commands about £50 on ebay. Is a proper collectors item, more so than the Mario Bros Wii U game.

I don't want to see red plastic next to my blue plastic!
The original cover will retain its value better!
Past games going for incredible prices!
It's not a Picasso. It was only 20 odd quid to start with, Mass produced paper and plastic are hardly valuable materials and its sold in huge figures. If your lucky in 80 years it may be worth 40 quid. More likely, sat on shelf in a charity shop for 50p like the ps one games of today. Put a hold on that yacht in retirement please.
Hands up anyone else who isn't bothered about the cover either?

Once I stick the disc in the console, it plays the same anyway. Plus you actually get more game to play with the Selects version.

(Btw I'm not bashing anyone who wants this version posted by the OP. I used to collect comics and comic book collectors are even more pedantic about which editions to buy.)

Sorry for the noob question but do you need anything to play online on wii u? Such as psn or xbox live for ps/xbox?
I own XB1 but thinking of a wii u in the future for me and the kids. Also with some of the games such as super mario 3d land, is it the exact same as the 3ds version? As we recently got a 3ds. Cheers!
As above, no charge for online services on Wii U.

Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) and Super Mario 3D World (Wi U) are entirely different games. In general, there's very little crossover between the two systems' libraries... off the top of my head:

- Super Smash Bros has broadly similar releases on 3DS and Wii U
- Hyrule Warriors Legends (3DS) has broadly the game content as Hyrule Warriors (WIi U)
- Some download-only releases will exist on both platforms in identical form, e.g., Shovel Knight. Note that there is not usually any 'cross-buy' availability

The best Mario since Super Mario World IMO (and yes, I am including Mario 64). SM3DW, Mario Maker and Mario Kart make the Wii U a worthwhile purchase for me. Fantastic games.

Whats the best Mario game for you? I rate SMB3 (NES) very highly which the dude mentioned.
I actually found Mario Bros Wii U and Luigi Bros Wii U to be really disappointing and a step sideways for Nintendo.

Childhood memories says Mario World/Mario 64 were the best but I'd have to say Mario Galaxy as it was pure genius.

Very tempting, but I'm gonna wait for it to become a Selects title. It already has in NA.
What is Nintendo Selects?
Reprints of games for much lower price (Wii U games are priced at 20 quid and thus far there are 5 available: Zelda Wind Waker, Lego City Undercover, Wii Party U, Super Mario Bros U + Luigi U, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze).

Actually 6 games available in Selects. Nintendo Land.

Although the normal version of Nintendo Land can be sourced cheaper.
Excellent price & great game; but still not a patch on Mario 64 in my opinion.

Can you play the 2+player only games with other users online or do they have to be in the same room?

Offline play only, bit of a shame really. Bit mystifying also as the game is full of other Wii U players Mii's and all that caper.

Off the 12 games, 3 are Team games for 1-5 players, another 3 are not Team but for 1-5 players, and another 6 can be Solo which include Donkey Kongs Crash Course, Yoshis Fruit Cart. (This info is on the back of the case).

Love Star Wars and loving the graphics in this game. Really trying to like it but Im just not feeling it. A few hours (including making tea) and all the single player is exhausted, not enjoying multiplayer. Good price if you want it though.

it's still gonna be a year or 2 until the finished game is released though, when they release a gold edition or "goty" that has the dlc content that might make a full game out of it
I thoroughly enjoyed it when it came out. But I soon got bored with the lack of depth in the game. Worth a play, but I haven't touched it for months.
bwlmog
such a disappointing game, style over substance and really regret paying full price on release.

Same here , no campaign, people camping high up with long range rifles on every map. No depth , kill and be killed game.

The buggy levels annoy me too, particularly one of the three lap races that I cannot get gold on. I hate to think how many goes I've had and I've got gold on the following 20 tracks...
If you're the sort who finds Wipeout too fast and difficult you will struggle with this. I'm off to cry again over Sony closing Studio Liverpool/Psygnosis. Pains me that we'll never see Wipeout on PS4.

I think they messed up a bit and made it too sensitive, doing the lapped buggy tracks is not what i call fun
Bloody typical that the price goes back up the day I get paid.
DistortedVision
Is this compatible with the Logitech G29 steering wheel?

Unfortunately not, though you'd probably break it if it was.
I just used two jokers to get me the silver on track 130, I'm resigned to the fact I'll never see the tracks in the black series, no way in he'll I'll ever ever get 160 golds, never mind the silvers needed for gold jokers lol
My son played the demo and loved the game so I have ordered it as a late easter present as he can not have any chocolate.

Thanks to the OP for posting this deal.

Yeah but atleast we're getting Formula Fusion (unofficial Wipeout sequel by ex-Wipeout devs). They got accepted to make a game on PS4 a while ago.

There is also grip, which is a spiritual successor to rollcage in early access right now

do they send signed for ? my postmans a bit of a roque
I wouldn't pay a single penny for this steaming pile of faeces
Cold.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this steaming pile of sh#t to any user on here. The developers DO NOT support the game and you will not see any more console updates. I have been fighting for console users rights on Twitter and got banned by Overkill and their CEO Almir Listo. I kept asking why the consoles were not being updated and why the PC users kept seeing more and more micro transactions for sub standard content and they tried to dodge it at every turn.

Look on steam forums. pfffft, even the mods there turned against Overkill.

So this is why I am voting cold. I would also not recommend buying their new walking dead game when it comes out.

Payday1 suffered a Terrible fate at the hands of these sub standard devs and Payday 2 is just going the same way.
Go for R6, its fantastic! This however is not

I could be paranoid but I bought this game two Friday's back but never received it. I had the dispatch confo instantly and complained today that I never received it. They responded to say they'd send it recorded delivery then an hour later that they were out of stock and I'd get a refund.

I'm now starting to wonder if they ever sent it.

Anyone else had a similar issue?
There are tons of races and skins DLCs, the best deal to get them all is the Season Pass, but that was on sale last week so might be a while. The Season of Infamy pack is on sale this week, as it's the single biggest expansion pack and some people only want that, but it's included in the season pass so if you ever intend to get that, avoid double-buying.

does it include harley quinn dlc please? if not does it matter?
doesn't really matter if you miss out on the Harley DLC. the main game is where it's at. Also the doc races are actually very good
DLC*
cheers only cost 14 pound with points so i can overlook the DLC i guess? how much and what are the races? batmobile?

dlc for tumbler 1989 automobile and the classic automobile are something like £1.69 each but well worth it

This is why physical are the way forward over digital. Good luck getting that price in digital format now on consoles!
i find that digital is always more pricey on console. i cant see myself ever going digital when psn has new games for £45-£60. pretty insane because you can get new physical games for £32-£45

100% agree
took a while to get into but a great game when you do

Tempted to try this anyone think its worth it at that price or wait for a further drop? seems likely that it'll be dropped in price even further soon as the rate its going.
if you like online search and destroy type games then this is for you. trust me. I've played it for a few months now. I think it's outstanding. you'll never feel intensity like this from any other game.

Thanks Mate! sounds like i'd really enjoy this one so will be buying!

How do companies even make money on game prices like this? Can't be too profitable.
You mustn't have a console. Ubi are making £2.50 a shot selling gun skins by the 1000 here. Its the future of gaming, low entry & ongoing purchases
I doubt that many people actually buy microtransactions.

You'd be surprised.

Wont drop imo this is an ongoing concern for Ubi the player base is building & they are making fat stacks selling add ons. This isnt cheap cos it isnt selling, this is cheap because its an entry bait.
But any meaningful additional content is free. Stuff like maps and operators are available to everyone. The only stuff you would have to pay for would be completely cosmetic.

This isn't an entry fee, you're getting the full experience for the price.

Thats what i'm saying is how they are making money from this game as the microtransactions are cosmetic.

I bought this and played it last night and decided I had made a huge mistake.
Bought it for a tenner, played for under an hour. Absolutely rubbish. Flogged on eBay for 8.50. Honestly, dont bother, total trash.

Rugby challenge 3 out on the 22nd, buy that instead. 39.95 from game collection I think.

Edited By: MyPetFrog on Apr 10, 2016 09:54
As an Englishman I have no intention of reliving the World Cup. I'll pass on this one.
I wish they would invest in a top quality rugby game the likes of PGA/NBA/FIFA etc
Voted hot for OP's great bants.
