Do you honestly, hand on heart, wear your phone around your neck? Come on now, the truth.

Might be ok for Bear Grylls but a bit chunky for most people.

i'd prefer this if it was a lot smaller

i have a nano type one, moulded from one piece of plastic, that i keep on my phon elanyard

i haven't lost or dropped my phone for many a year (primarily BECAUSE of the lanyard) therefore i think it's a sensible place to keep it. i imagine my little drive will be waterproof too cos no moving parts or exopsed circuitry

anyway, heated

Acer Ferrari 1100-704G25Mn - 4GB RAM, 64-bit Vista Ultimate, 12.1" screen, 1.15kg - £499.99

I saw this deal and thought it looked like a bargain. Is it really only 1.15kg? Does anybody know of any 64-bit OS laptops that can take upto 8GB RAM? I would really appreciate some guidance on this.

i bought used acer aspire 5000 laptop (£160) about 3 years ago AND it still works fine...just the fan is noisy!
i bought sony vaio fz21m brand new ( £700) about 1.5 years ago and the GPU died! sony chrages 35pence per minute call to tell you that if your laptop is out of warranty they will charge you £600 to fix it! The call lasts about 7 minute!
Whether acer is good or not ....i would say it depends on the machine itself and the usage too!

I've had an Acer laptop for the last 4 years build quality has been fine, customer service I've had far worse....Dell for instance. Of course you will find good and bad feedback concerning every make of PC and Laptop, exactly the same happens with makes of car some people will only buy that make and others will never buy that make again. I'm wondering why you consider your view is any more pertinent than anyone elses?

I'm still using the acer laptop I bought for Uni in 2002. I've only upgraded the ram and harddrive and it's on its second battery but still going strong. Very impressed and highly recommended.

I think acer are the biggest pile of **** in the laptop market, they push out high spec laptops at low prices and in return give you a poor build quality product that will last less than 12 months, their customer service is the worst I've ever had.

Any computer magazine you read will always have mass advertising of acer products which seems like a good buy to any consumer.

I would never ever buy another acer product.

I'm sure theres many people on here that will tell you bad stories about acer and people that will rave about them, but I'm saying this to save people time and money.

Dont buy them!

Most laptops sold in the last 2 or 3 years could support 8GB ram, and pretty much every laptop sold since the launch of Core 2 Duo, in 2007 has been able to run X64 OS. AMD powered laptops has done so for even longer.

Those aren't really the features worth buying a laptop for, afterall 8GB upgrade is disportionally expensive, and 64 bit OS sometimes have driver issues, that stops them
my xps m1330 is upgradable to 8gb ram
