Just picked one up at Stevenage Toys r us. Now only £17.49, less than half price!

Kids will love this amazing Thomas and Cranky Coal Loader! Watch as Thomas the Tank Engine carries out a day’s work, picks up the coal and drops it off at the quarry! Thomas loads the coal and carries it up the quarry lift, drops it into the hopper where it falls down the chute ready for Cranky to lift it up and tip it into the loading bay. Thomas hands over to Lor1 who scoops up the coal ready for the fun to start again!

This review is from: Thomas and Cranky Coal Loader (Toy)
I have to agree with the previous reviewer - a totally useless toy. It is, without doubt, the worst toy I have ever bought for my kids. Took almost 2 hours to put together, then keeps the kids entertained for 5-10 minutes. Then the kids can't touch it without breaking part of the track (that's a 6yo as well as the 3yo it's aimed at). It can't be moved to tidy it away without breaking it, so parents, it will drive you mad!
This is one of the most useless toys ever. Complicated to put together, no interaction for the child except to gaze at it. They soon get bored with it. Utterly pointless
thats 2 reviews on amazon it does look good as i said before just bad reviews putting me off i might go into toysrus have a look my son loves trains

It's actually listed on Amazon twice. In the other listing, there are 5 reviews.
here are the reviews...

What a fun toy!
I had a version of this toy(not a Thomas version, but same concept) when I was a kid (30 odd years ago)and was excited when I saw it again. It was one of my favourite ever toys and I wanted to buy it for my son (3 1/2). We have had it a day now, and it has barely been turned off - my son and his sister love it. I agree it's not very durable, but this is a toy that needs...

purchased cranky coal for my 3yr old nephew great fun & easy to play with.down sides are coal balls are little on small size for younger ones & very easy to fall apart.

I love watching Thomas go round the tracks, very well designed but my son gets upset as all he wants to do is hold Thomas and push him round himself so would recommend for children over 3.
After so many years, this toy still fascinates myself and kids in the family. Fantastic design, well made, and so much fun to use and watch - another brilliant product from Tomy.
The pieces did not stay together after assembly, therefore not very child friendly!!! The coal was not included either, so overall a very disappointing purchase, as it was a birthday gift and is now back in the box as no fun playing with it

Btw, one of the 1 star reviews said it took them 2 hours to assemble!! I took me about 15 mins.
