The reviews are good, but check out the other Turkey holidays around this date too

I can't see it, has it all gone?

Andy Wedge is absolutely correct! Went to Marmaris and Icemeler last year and although it is a nice place it's way too over-rated and over-hyped! The beach is man made so don't expect a nice sandy beach, in fact teh beach is very narrow for the entire stretch from Icemeler to Marmaris. I would recommend staying in Icemeler rather than Marmaris depending on what you're there for.

Nope it's still there
Follow the instructions I posted above and you'll find it

I have to disagree with the above comments about Marmaris. I went there for 10 days for a cheap & cheerful holiday in August & we had a lovely time. The food over there was good & cheap, and overall the resort was nice & at the end of the day, a holiday is what you make it!
#9
sorry if i'm being thick but its coming up at over 800 for me, did u imput a code somewhere? if so where does it go ive just been right thru and am probably being blind!
#10
Thanks Andy, you take all the hard work out of finding an affordable holiday, thanks from my family and have some heat and rep :)

Marmaris is usually regarded as a bit of a dive in comparison to other cities.
I would say to holiday around Fethiye, it's perfect for familys there.

Thomas Cook have got some brill deals at the moment, we booked on Monday for 9th August so bang smack in summer hols, for 14 days from cardiff to Bodrum airport, staying in Gumbet - £320 each based on 4 adults sharing a 2 bed apt. Bargain!
#14
I can honestly say I really didn't find it a dive & I have been there twice & I class myself as well travelled. Each time I have stayed in 4* apartments & found them really nice. After seeing this deal, I went on TC to have a look & found the apartments Club we went to last year for £601.20 for 2 adults & 2 kiddies, this price was priced on 4 adults as this comes up loads cheaper for some strange reason. I then called my local Thomas Cook travel agents & they price matched it for me & I booked, what a bargain for £150pp!
#15
get so confused with these deals. really want to go away as a family got three kids under 7 its the first time abroad but i just dont know where to start? would you reccomend this one as a first time holiday - its really a pool/beach holiday that we would like (not sure being five of us whether we would need two rooms though, someone at work said i would.

Nice deal Andy

Just take your time researching loads and loads of places, this seems a brilliant deal. And needing 2 rooms depends on the size of the apartments offered, with 3 kids under 7 I don't see how you could have 2 rooms unless you and your partner slept in differenct rooms?

It's scary and daunting but just keep searching, and maybe even pop into your local travel agent for some advice too :)

Good find Andy

i also have to disagree we had a great time in marmaris and i would not say it is a dive:)

From a personal point of view i would not take young children to Marmaris, having visitied many parts of Turkey over the last 10 years. If you have Turkey in mind, one of the most family orentated places i have found is Altinkum, if it was adults only Marmaris is great, with Kids head to Altinkum...
#21
I have been looking too to take 3 kids away to the 'sun' - total minefield as most places cater 2 adults and 2 children!!!!!
#22
can i book as 4 adults if i actually have 2 adults 2 children, as when i put kids in its much more expensive
#23
Good deal for a sunny getaway. Thanks!
#24
i just called and kids can go as adults, but i also have an infant and they said that only four can go as the rooms say sleeps, 2-4
#25
Marmaris is a dump IMO - but if cheap, tacky 'little England in the sun' resorts are your thing, this is a good deal.
#26
Is there much to do in the area during the day except sunnig yourself? Great price for a weeks hols...

Have you ever been to Marmaris because it is certainly no DUMP:x it may be cheap but weve had lots of great holidays there.alot of people wont know how big Marmaris is there are 4 main areas and the Armultalan area is by far the best. the food is some of the best in Europe and all the day trips are the best value anywhere all about £10.so unless you want to go to the ****** euro this is a great deal.

Gone???!

Sorry, the holiday you have selected has now sold out. Please choose another from our wide selection or change the dates you wish to travel. We apologise for the inconvenience. [Error Code: c115]

EDIT: Also, check the flight times! I just found a good deal until I checked, leaving Marmaris at 1:55am! Arriving UK 4am! hence the reason there are some cheap deals, just a warning.

Yeah, I have been, which is why I commented on what I thought of it.

It's just like the Spanish resorts in that it is like a mediterranean version of Blackpool:

A huge number of bars/restaurants that are English themed or owned,
roast dinners
pints of warm ale
'cheaper than ASDA' style banter
harassment from the staff if you have a decent looking wife
fat, bald middle aged men wearing England tops
teens running around ****** vomiting everywhere
shaggin in the side-streets
menus with pictures of what food they offer
neon lights everywhere

Like I said, it's not my bag, but it's a good deal for folk that like to holiday in a foreign country without experiencing any of it's culture.

Again have to agree with this,
its a very cheap/tacky place to holiday, most of the bars/restaurants show Eastenders and Emmadale on the big screens too
#33
I have been, luckily not stayed there (stayed in Turunc), just visited on a boat trip.

If you love a holiday where you are hassled by people to go into bars, like the good old english breakfast and "Garlic Bread", then go for it.

You could also try Benidorm for a similar experice as well as Blackpool.

Personally I wouldn't want that - but everyone is different. I think it is important for people to know what it is like - they may well like it and fair play to them!
#34
Well I said it was good & in the last couple of years I have been to Marmaris twice, Belek once, Egypt 3 times, St Lucia once, France 6 times & America twice, so unfotunately DarkKnight you are wrong! For anyone wanting a cheap & cheerful holiday where if you choose a decent hotel, you will most likely have a nice holiday & for anyone that has already booked the restaurants around the harbour are little more expensive but well worth it!

It depends what you prefer to do on your holidays. If you just like staying in an all-inclusive resort then Marmaris may be a good choice. For anything else then you are looking in the wrong place.
I don't know why you are saying im wrong, as most of the people on this thread say the same as me.
#36
Why when you goto continue does the price jump up about £30 per person??????????????
#37
Great price, 4 adults mid July for £440, can't be bad!!

That's my holiday sorted for 2010 and Marmaris is not that bad.

IS there anything in the deal that says you have to stay in Marmaris for all the time of the 2 weeks.you could get the boat to the lovely village of Turnuc or hire a car and go up into the mountains and see the real Turkey there are also plenty of local resaurants that sell great local food.theres also the hydrofoil over to Rhodes.as for you list above you wont find any of these away from the front up in the Armutalan area.theres plenty of culture if you get off your backside and go and see it.
