Sounds like a good deal however I went to buy one of these about six months ago when they were 89.99 and the guy in Tesco told me not to bother as most of them had come back with firmware problems. IF they have sorted those out then good buy.

They get re-packaged and what not as part of the refurb. I work for tesco on electricals and I still wouldnt touch them with a barge pole!

I bought one a couple of weeks ago, had to take it back as it just kept freezing the picture.

Then he bought them all with his staff discount, put them on fleabay and made enough money to open his own swingers hotel in barbados. :-D

I've had the same one for a year or so now and really wouldn't bother, high recording failure rate, picture regularly freezes and sound stutters, helpline people are no good, customer service is terrible.

Not a good box at all, stay well clear.

I bought a refurb one from Asda for £50 last summer. It's been fine, save the odd freeze up and corrupted recording...but for the money it's a bargain imo.

Pay the extra and get a Humax. I had a succession of three Thomson PVR's and they we're all rubbish, then exchanged for a Humax and had no problems

So its not really "Fine" then.

It's all been said before about these.... (a search around will prove it's not just on this site) now if anyone is daft enough to waste 60 quid on one with all the info there is available, they deserve all they get.

You can only protect people from themselves so far :-(

I know ebay isn't liked on here, but I bought my Thomson DTR from this guy for about £45 at the time.

Its had its faults (As with all the above comments) but better than the £60 in tesco, although you could always take it back to tesco I guess if it isn't for you.

*I'm nothing to do with the above ebay seller, just bought one purchase from him back in 2008 and had him saved as a seller in ebay.
