This is a good price but remember full board doesn't include drinks & snacks? & these are EXPENSIVE! (also you have to tip) good find though! :)

Cant seem to get the link working
#3
Link works for me, but if not, try going to www.thomson.co.uk and searching for the cruise by date
#4
Full Board on the Escape does include snacks but not drinks. In fact you can eat 24hrs a day if you want!

With Thomson/Island Cruises you can upgrade to All-Inc for £49pw per Adult. I'm 99% certain you can do it onboard too.

There was no tippin on this ship (12 months ago) as I stayed on the sister ship 'The Island Star' which went back to the Caribbean

Must be because it's so late a booking. If you wait until you're onboard and purchase the all-inc option at the Pursers desk, I guarantee you it wont cost you anywhere near that.

Yes, it does appear to be £180 per person if you book with the cruise, but elsewhere on the Thomson site it does say you can upgrade to all inclusive for £49 per person . Probably just not on this particular offer.

So - thanks to AyrHoopy - if I were booking for myself, I'd probably wait until on board and then see what deals were available.

It's been a while since I went on the Escape, but I remember voluntarily tipping the cabin staff. There was no forced tip added to my bill.

Great price but I've read some pretty poor reviews of Thomson cruises (probably related to the use of 'all inclusive' services!). Maybe better at this time of the year?
#12
Price is showing as £410 now :-(

Mrs Hoopy's a travel agent with a cruise specialist. She just popped home for lunch and I asked her what Thomson/Island were like now. She advised to steer well clear however cheap they are.

She recommends having a look here for more info..

Four of us did this cruise on the Thomson Celebration at this very time last year and had a lovely time, we paid £1200 per couple, yes you can eat 24hrs a day in the buffet restaurant where menus are changed a 2 or 3 times a day or there are another 3 waiter service if you want, there is also an a la carte, all spotlessly clean, drinks were very reasonable, John Smiths, Stella, £2.90, a little tip for anyone who wants to go on the organised trip into Morocco...don't...its a rip off, they take you up the mountains and you are beseiged by beggars rip off merchants, make your own way using the taxis parked on the dockside, its also not that warm this time of year

I wouldnt recommend it, cam back from this cruise last friday. The food was like my hosptal canteen, cabins very outdated. Also the atlantic is very rough this time of the year - for 2 nights you couldnt even walk and everyone was being sick! The ports themselves were lovely except morocco - very dirty. I would say save your money and go with P&O!

Having read the shocking reviews I have to say you'd be better off on that North Sea ferry which claims to offer 'cruises'.

Another pointless post!

I had to check - I can still find a cruise on this date for £360. If that's not a deal, what is?
