Hand luggage was weighed on both legs and not questioned on the outbound leg even though nearly 8kg but was questioned leaving Sanford when it was only 7kg.
Also it maybe helpful to know that we filled up the huge tank of our rental Mustang for $40, so petrol is still incredibly cheap compared to here in UK.
Great deal - I'd give it a shot if it didn't cost me £100 for a Visa every time I enter the USA now! I'm excluded from the Visa Waiver Program because I was arrested once 25 years ago, Police thought that I was my cousin.
Part of me is surprised at this, part of me is not. You may not actually need a visa since the questions for the entry are very specific, I.e. ' Have you ever been arrested or convicted for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude or a violation related to a controlled substance; or have been arrested or convicted for two or more offenses for which the aggregate sentence to confinement was five years or more; or have been a controlled substance trafficker; or are you seeking entry to engage in criminal or immoral activities'. So many people with minor convictions are eligible for the visa waiver. However, having tested the knowledge of the USA embassy in London, they tell you you have to get a visa if you have a speeding fine or conviction - which is a load of rubbish. Spend £10 making a subject access application to the police to find out what data they hold on you. It may have weeded, so if the police don't hold it any more there is no way of the US authorities recovering the information.

The money is not the problem. The problem is phoning work on Monday morning and saying I won't be in as I'm in Florida!
I'm not sure they would believe me if I said I was going away for the weekend and got on the wrong plane! :)
