I doubt this is worth £40 never mind £80, £32 is borderline I think if you like all varieties

For example the snowman and santa choc model's are £5 each in Debenhams, but there aint a lot of weigh on the rest of it

I agree to an extent I'm not a huge fan of thorntons and if you shop around you could maybe get a slightly better price, but it's convenient and a good deal for people who would go on the site and buy it at £40

Still way over priced at £32.00. Who in their right mind would ever even contemplate buying this at £80.00. Most of the items listed are below 200g and even as low as 25g. The only one that has any weight in it is conveniently a toffee one that not many people are bothered about. No thanks.

I agree. And I feel sick thinking about all that chocolate, gimme a bar of twix anyday and I'm happy. Overpriced sugar.

Bought a thorntons Xmas hamper on here week ago, note that you may get replacement items as I did (2), plus the Santa was in bits. I complained and tbf Thorntons sent me replacements quickly. However as an example instead of the continental box that was advertised they sent me a smaller one. After I complained this wasn't a fair enough replacement (half the size) they sent me another small box, so I never got the bigger box advertised. Which is fine, but if I was fixed on giving people certain items as advertised then I would have been disappointed.
I agree though its convenient and less hassle and it comes in a box that you can see in picture at back which is fine.
so voted hot as I would probably order again.

A few points.
Thorntons RRP is twice or three times the value.
Who needs so many choccies all at once.
In my view their Continental chocs are pretty sickly.
The Classic chocs are OK but Aldi will do a "Copy"
box, around half a pound for £1.49.They are great.

Agree. They used to be a 'luxury' chocolate brand when they had their own shops but since they've shut down and de-luxed their chocs, they're just nrrrrr

At this time of year I buy 'so many choccies' to give them away. As gifts. I also buy many other things. It's a Christmas thing I believe :-)

Some people also prefer very sweet things :-)

I take note re items being overpriced, but IMHO Thorntons are still perceived to be higher quality by many people, including some recipients of my many choccies. I don't eat chocolate that much so sorry I can't comment on whether a cheaper brand do better quality chocs. I know I do like Lindt + Ritter Sport :-) Each to their own.

its still a good discount if you were going to buy some Thorntons chocs + stocking fillers anyway.

I bought one of these hampers last week. Not this one but similar. Reduced from £80-£40. It was a really good deal. I'm not using it as one present. I'm firing all the chocolate out as separate presents and stoking fillers. I priced them individually at a discount store and it worked out cheaper with the hamper.
#31
£3.50 for snowman& Santa in Morrison.
#32
Yum. Thanks!
#33
Maybe the smaller santa/snowman in hampers, definitely not worth£80 or £40.
#34
Says £80 now for me :(
#35
If you like the Thornton's toffee its cheaper top buy it from Poundland at a £1 per 160g than Thornton's own bags or boxes.

Expired.

I'm sure it'll be back next week.

Seems to be back on: just ordered with half price code. Not same deal as £32 one but still went for it.

Deal on the chocs seems OK but for anybody pinning there hopes on getting cash out of Topcashback, forget it!!

I ordered a hamper from Thorntons two weeks ago. They took the money immediately, sent me an email saying it had been dispatched a week ago. I'm still waiting for delivery and it's now too late to use as gifts for some of the people I had in mind. So far, not impressed with their service. I'd certainly avoid this if you wanted it by Christmas.
