Chocolate does go off, but its good for a lot longer than the expiry date.
Does it say 'best before' or 'use by' ? 'Use By' means that its going to go off, but 'best before' means it should last a lot longer,

Chocolate does not actualt go "off" they use a 'best before' date to comply with food laws and trading standards. after a very long period of time chocolate starts to loose its taste and therefore is less appealing. You can not get ill from eating out of date chocolate it just wont taste as good!

nom nom nom. hot!
#12
But it goes all discoloured and nasty, but agreed wont make ill
#13
It may not go off, but as the person who mentioned it was talking of stocking up for Xmas ...

If they were stocking fillers at Xmas, how pleased would you be to get an out of date box of chocolate for Xmas? ;)
#14
The filling can go off btw, chocolate itself will be fine for a long time.
