Threadless - $5 tees! £2.50

Threadless are clearing out 21 unique tee's for $5 each! Having checked the stock levels (to buy more for myself, already have about 5) it's fair to say that if you are a Medium guy then this deal isn't for you :(

But almost all tee's are in stock for women, various sizes.

Check if the $3 voucher is still working for this as well.

Came up £5 shipping ($9.95) for me for 3 t-shirts

Ouch. You were right about the Medium Guy's. I couldn't find any i liked. Mistakenly thought the Stabby McKnife was $5, couldn't decide whether it was in incredibly bad tast, decided to buy it anyway, and promptly found out it was $15.

I likes it. The voucher code didn't work for me.

I know that the customs limit is £18 but is that just for the items or does that include postage?

I have found five $5 tshirts that I want and with postage it comes to $36.38 which is £18.35. Would I get charged customs for this?

EDIT: Screw it, I will just mark it as it is a gift so the level becomes £36..........
#8
Just for the items. It has to be under £18 (so £17.99 or less). But confusingly if it's £18 or over the postage is included in the customs calculation.

Coming up as $14 shipping for 3 shirts, is that good? suppose $30 for 3 isn't bad:?

$14 for three? They charged me $11.38 for five! Maybe they calculate it using your postcode or something?

Glad to hear some people have received theirs from the $10 sale, I ordered three t-shirts but I have not received mine yet. I too chose the "slow postage" so hopefully they will turn up this week or next.
#15
not that good, every design i choose is sold out.

I am a Size 10 / 12 and I have ordered Size M which are apparently about a Size 12 so Large should be fine for a Size 14. Depends how you want them to fit, get a Large if you want it a bit more fitted or a XLarge if you want them loose.
#22
thanks for the quick response kimbyanne

They apparently run the same as UK Sizing. So just get the same Size as you would in the UK.

Girls sizes are roughly;

XS - 8
S - 10
M - 12
L - 14
XL - 16
2XL - 18
#27
Might get a few of these when I get paid, but judging by the postage I may aswell go into Primark lol
#28
I have got a girls XL and a boys L. The girls XL fits like a 16, the boys L fits more like an 18. There is very little difference in shape - the only thing I can see is slightly shorter sleeves. If you are a bloke, I'd go for a girly T if you can get away with and equivalent to L or smaller (does that make sense?). My son just chose a M girly T , he's usually a small mens. Hope that helps a bit?

I've just treated myself to a few - 7 T's $18.13 shipping:thumbsup:

You ordered seven t-shirts? In one order?
#31
everyone seems to be having different postage charges, so i thought i would just comment to say i am in manchester and my postage charge for 3 tees was just over $10
#32
i dont know if its just me, but ive just tried to check my order status for the shirts i ordered.... and it says that i havent ordered anything! but ive received emails to confirm the purchases....:-(
#33
thanks for the heads up.

been buying from threadless for a few years now. get nearly all of my t-shirts from them. just be prepared to get hit with import charges if you are ordering over £18 worth of stuff. i've been hit for it every time i ordered.

although this time i should be ok. ordered 4 for myself, and 2 for my girlfriend (gutted they didnt have the "this was supposed to be the future: where is my jetpack?" shirt in blokes sizes.

so 6 tees for $30/£15. then $21 shipping to nottingham. dang.
#34
Remember the shipping is not included in your £18 allowance, but is taken into account if charged (so im told)
#35
hotukdeals. ;)

i'm kidding.

I have loads of threadless t-shirts because im so geeky ;). You'll find large will fit extra large too, remember its american sizes.

Threadless sales are always good value because the t-shirt quality is GOOD.

The shipping is also good from America, however, if your stuff is under£18, or your lucky, you will not be charged tax. Out of 3 times ordering £50+ (with friends), twice I've got away without tax, pretty lucky imo. Royal Mail usually add £8.00 fee for paying the tax, then your tax payment on top. (Note this was last time I ordered in October).

Yup! A couple for hubby, a couple for son and the rest for me! The quality is fab, they wash really well, and even if I get stung by customs, it still works out to be a reasonable price for quality t shirts, that are a bit more interesting than standard high st Tee's.
#38
I bought 30 in one order. That was taxed a fair bit...
#39
Just got my T-Shirts ordered via slooow delivery from the $5 sale.
Order is as requested, and quality seems good. Men's XL seems about the same as your average XL over here.

Take care on the import duty though. I ordered $36 worth of shirts, as the rate was over $2 per pound when I ordered - but I just got stung for £11.17 worth of VAT + Royal Mail charges.

Turns out that customs do not use the standard interbank exchange rate at the time the order was placed (or indeed when the order was assessed for tax). Instead they have a monthly list of exchange rates to be used for all deliveries during that month. The list for March shows the rate for USD as 1.9406 - So $36 came to £18.55 and VAT is applied.

Lesson for next time is check the rates they are using, and probably go for $35 instead of $36.

Rate tables are available at the following link :-
http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageImport_RatesCodesTools&columns=1&id=EXRATES_2008

Hope this helps someone avoid this 60% tax !
