Good luck trying to cancel and expect Three to actually do anything useful like stopping the DD (or multiple DD's if you're unlucky). I wouldn't touch Three anymore after the fun and games I've had with them before, technical support do not have access to the phones you use, they don't know what multimedia messaging is, customer disservice do not know their own terms and conditions when you quote them back at them plus so much more is wrong with that company, oh and good luck getting a signal with them.

I remember having a rant in Guildford High Street with a salesperson who wanted to try and sell me a contract, I told him everything that was wrong with the company and asked if any of the issues had been sorted out, needless to say he wasn't too impressed with me, but it kept some customers away hopefully.

Funny, I've used them three times now and not had a problem. My GF also uses them, not a single issue. I only swapped because my house seems to be in a black hole that only tmobile can penetrate!

You don't need to be on the 3 network to get Skype though ;-)

..and who do you recommend we go with instead where we won't have any regrets?

Three are no better or worse than most other network providers. Most people have bad experiences with customer service so I don't see why people always have to highlight Three as being significantly worse. I've had some issues with them but it always works out in the end. Please stop the Three bashing - it's getting boring!

Typical comment from someone who used 3 a couple of years ago. 3 have improved alot recently.
Much better than T-Mobile, when my internet wouldn't even work properly.

I use 3 for broadband and they are excellent - much better than T-Mobile. Might give this a go aswell.
#15
Been with them 3 years now. No issues at all. Never have to wait in queue if calling. Good service all round. They recently made error (due to me messing them around) with my Internet bolt on and cancelled by mistake. When I called them they apologized immediately and without me asking gave me a month for free
signal for me is no issue and because they don't have as many customers the others there is less demand on there 3G meaning it's a lot quicker than others.
I have an old iPhone 3G on 3 and my wife an iPhone 4 on vodafone and my mobile Internet is a lot quicker than hers.

Oh yeah, the mobile broadband on three is great. I'm still getting it for a fiver a month, I'm sure they'll notice one day but they still think my dongle is an N95 :)

Actually you're wrong I broke free from 3 when I got my HTC desire on launch day - incidentally with t-mobile which was 7 months ago. 3 are aggressive ignorant bullies and I have telephone recordings to substantiate my comments.

I couldn't care less if you go with them, I don't know you - just be warned!

You obviously haven't been with Orange then!

the networks not the best but customer service has always been reasonable, am thinking of going back to them purely for the ratio of minutes per pound are not easily beaten.

In my experience they are all basically as bad as each other. Have used 3 for about four years and the line rental etc costs are lower than had I used another.

But now that we have £10pcm SIM cards the economics is shifting a bit. People don't want to be locked into two year contracts - myself included.

So £10 per month deal is fine. I would not say it was fantastic as you can get a phone included for between £13 to £15. But on a two year committment(!)
