I know that some of you will vote this cold because you don't like Three, but if any of you inevitable cold voters can suggest a cheaper way to get 700 minutes a month, I want to hear it.

what are you gonna do with 700 min, start a phone booth?
its just not worth the hassle of 18months of three.

700 minutes isn't that much. Deduct the 100 minutes you'd probably do well to swap for 100 texts and you're only looking a 10 hours talktime per month, which quickly vanishes if you've got a couple of blabbers in your phone book.

I've used Three for years without issue. Tried them when they first came out, and left as soon as I could. Since 2006/7 though I've been a customer.

Three is a great network for calls and text and internet. As an upgrade for my 1100minand text for £13.25 with that nokia 6120 beat that as an upgrade deal and Three is the only UK network that lets you upgrade on the 15 month of a contact on an 18 month contract so I don't care because coverage in London is great.
#5
i'm with 3 and have had hardly any problems with the network and my 18months are up next month, was thinking of going for the vodafone sim only deal going around at the moment but when checking the network coverage in my house found it lacking, i guess its hit and miss depending on where you live and how good network coverage is. With this deal you may get an extra £30 refer a friend on top of the quidco plus you get a phone, hot for me
#6
good deal I am with 3 and my contract ends soon. could I go for this through quidco and if so how do I then keep my number, anyone know please. Voted hot

Afaik, it isn't possible to port your number from one contract to another directly. Someone who knows better will probably be along shortly, but I think the method you need to use is to end the current contract by requesting a PAC code, then use that PAC code with a cheap PAYG SIM from a different operator, and then sign up for a new Three contract and PAC the code over. You might find it easier to phone the cancellations line and tell them of this deal, though. Point them to the URL if you like. Explain that they can either renew at the price offered above and with an equivelent to the TCB cashback (less a tenner to cover the costs of a new PAYG SIM, I guess), and if they've any sense, they'll let you.

You can also get this deal on the Sony Ericsson C510 if you don't like the Nokia... http://threestore.three.co.uk/priceplans.aspx?phonecode=SEC510B3DS

Or the 3 Skypephone S2... http://threestore.three.co.uk/priceplans.aspx?phonecode=3SKYS23DSL

Hope this helps someone.

3 have no reception in my area. So cant go with them. But nice price for what you get there. hot
#11
One way of porting your number would be to get a PAYG sim from someone else, port the number to that and then port it back to your new contract. Yes, it's hassle but AKAIK it's the only way to do it.

I'm about to join 3, as I've got a Nokia N97 coming tomorrow. I've heard lots of varying reports about the 3 network. My mum is with them and doesn't have any problems. I can't help thinking it would be useful if people could give an indication of where they are using their phone when they have good or bad reception, so other people can gain a better picture of their coverage. As far as I've experience, the network seems fine around the Worthing area.

I had my first experience of their call centre today - my word, it was hard to understand some of what was being said!

Guys, the 6120 phone is the same phone available for 15£ /mnth on a 6 month contract.

The phone is worth a little over 50 quid.

The deal isnt bad as such.. but I would definitely look at a better phone. 18 months with a 6120 is terrible, if you use skype [even if you just login to skype + MSN ] and talk 5-10min /day
you are going to be charging the phone every night !

Yes the call centre is in Mumbai, and the customer reps cant offer any thing else other than what they see on screen which is pretty much what you see online.. so if your haggling for a deal/upgrade try asking for the manager.
#13
I've been with 3 for a 4 years. Presently paying £15 for 500 min +100 txt. My husband for 2 years. He pays £15 for 500 min and no txt. Reception great in Belfast.

I think its a good deal

It's nice / reassuring to hear some good things about Three for a change! :)

I think reception seems to depend pretty much on where you are. I spent about four years with Three, and I never had a problem with them up here in Scotland or in the northern regions of England. I never ventured any further south of any further north than Perth, but it was consistantly very good everywhere I went. I could get a bar or two in the basement of City Park, a four storey office block, and I don't recall ever going out of range.

Regarding Three CS btw, I always got on okay with them. Trick is, just communicate your issues as clearly as possible (if you can speak in callcentre-speak, that's excellent), be nice, but don't expect level-one call centre monkeys to be able to pull off miracles, so if you get nowhere, ask to speak to a supervisor. I only had cause to call them two or three times, each time the issue was resolved on the phone. Once, I had to speak to a supervisor, another time, the girl couldn't help so she called me back the next day once the appropriate departmnent had had a chance to look at the case. I was always happy with the service from them.

Nothing wrong with 3 , use their network in liverpool when im home and here in the northeast with no issues whatsoever.

Voted hot .

I've used Three for years, and been reasonably happy with their service, until I recently upgraded. Three seem to offer different upgrades online to what you may be offered if you phone them. The deal I was offered online seemed too good to be true, and when my first bill arrived, I was paying seven pounds more than I should have. My first two calls to customer services were exrtremely frustrating; it was implied that I had made a mistake and that I would not have been offered this deal. It was only after contacting Three ecommerce directly that the problem was resolved. I would, however, never recommend them to anyone now.

me £10 a month for 500 mins/texts and 2300 free 3 to 3 mins

mrs phatbhoy pays £5 per month for 500 mins and 100 texts

would happily recommend 3

lets get this right,
- happy with them for years
- new offer was "too good to be true"
- few phone calls later its sorted

and now you would never recommend them. Let me tell you something. None of the phone companies are perfect - I have had hassle with Vodafone O2 and 3 in the past. But none of them do as competitive pricing as 3.
#20
three are brilliant until something goes wrong. i was with them until something went wrong and i learned my lesson!
#21
I've just upgraded with 3, and I'm very happy with my new deal, and my previous one for that matter. It was touch and go though, as I could barely understand the thick Indian accents I encountered whilst arranging this. I hope I never need to explain anything complex.
#22
After 3 years I have just escaped my contract early, as although normally reception is fine, at home where I work reception is lousy, I have now unlocked my phone, got an o2 sim only deal for half the monthly cost and reception is great! I have left my cobtract 6 months early, kept the phone and saving £20 a month for the same/better service!

If you sent an email to Three, and also had four very long, frustrating phone conversations with customer services over four days, with their line consistently being that you had made an error, and that you had signed up to an 18 month contract for £20 a month, and not the £13.25 that you imagined you saw..., would you recommend them? Bad service is bad service.

Very interested in that - I just did the same (as it seems has another member here) - I did print screen the screens though (they can try getting more than £13.25 out of me if they like - I'll simply constantly reclaim the DD money)!

how did you leave 6 months early?

my other half had the same online upgrade offer, but "I" want a 6220 and don't fancy a long conversation with customer services :?
#28
I was with 3 for almost 6 years. All fine until this year when it came to upgrading. Wouldnt let me carry my loyalty discount over to a new tariff, even though the one I was on was obsolete, and twice lied about giving me discounts because I was a valued customer, when in fact they were same deals as offered on website. Also tried to charge me £80 for a phone which was free on the same tariff on website to everyone else! Ended up having 5 conversations with CS ranging from 40 mins to an hour an a half, going round and round in circles. Nightmare! Am now on Virgin, and CS is much better.

wasnt this same deal £12.41 a month just a few weeks ago? without quidco

dont buy from these jokers, just tried to end my 1100 mins 18 month contract ,which is up next month ,after a lot of phone calls to these monkeys managed to get them to end it only for the guy to hang up on me after a 40 minute call when i asked his name,so remember when you join them they really ,really dont want you to leave,scary?:w00t:

yes :-)

So Warm compared to the other deal that then had a code for an extra £3 discount on rental.
Suggest some one seaks to the LIVE CHAT and ask if there is a promotion code to reduce the amount......Thats how the last one got reduced
#33
I have no probs with 3.
I am on 500 mix match + 2300 3 to 3 mins
Also the skype is added bonus
For only £5 per month
#34
Got this phone on the deal that worked out at 12.41 a month and then had refer a friend on top.

Really good phone except for the fact that it gets uncomfortably hot when used for more than 10 mins. Ended up sending it back to 3 and getting a sony g502 instead.

I swore Id' never use 3 again after receiving poor coverage in London a few years ago.
But maybe things are different now?
#36
I have just taken up this deal, but managed to get an extra £3 monthly discount as mentioned previously on this site - my wife hated the Nokia 6120 ( looks cheap and plasticy ) but called 3 and they agreed an upgrade to the new Nokia 6700 for just an extra £2 a month!
Nokia 6700, 700 mix and match and £55 quidco for just £14.75 a month - a bargain I reckon :-D
RAF didn't work though...

Never go with 3, massive mistake on my part, signal strength awful. I had 3 different phones by makers, Nokia ,lg, 18 month contract = biggest headache of my life. try to cancel and you get passed around a call centre in India whilst they all have a laugh at your expense. They kept telling me it was a problem with my phone hence the 3 swaps, then I was told I needed to move to a better signal area ? OK if you fancy walking the 3 miles down the road to obtain the signal. I work all around the country. Scotland on my 3 phone was no a go. as was most of the country. before you even consider this deal check out reviews of 3 on the net.

I personally would rather get an S.T.D than a 3 mobile contract :whistling:

Sorry to the poster it does seem like a good deal, but if you can't ever use your minutes then what's the point, I cannot vote this hot, it is in no way directed at you. just trying to pre-warn any person who might be tempted.

You have all been warned

Yes, it's coming from Three.

i think its a good deal for the mins compared to other networks mins (heat added) -is the recommend a friend applicable on the offer?

Anyway I guess the coverage isnt as good in some areas -where the coverage is good, the customers are happy with 3- ive been with 3 pretty much from network launch was it 2004 or 3( I forget now)- however recently I wasnt offered a loyalty /retention deal, which is strange as Ive been with 3 for sooo long, I saw a few of the posts here that some ppl are getting like excellent loyalty discounts, like fiver a month...how are you guys negotiating these deals??? this year it worked out better for me to disconnect & then reconnect with a new phone & new number & recommend a friend & selling the handset to cover the line rental.

If you log into your three account theres an upgrade link at the bottom. Allows you to renew with same terms (including discount) and get a free fone on 12 month plan. Im on same plan as you and getting £25 loyalty discount per month. Showing me free fones upgrades!
