Seems like an okay deal to me.

If they honour the £8 Quidco after the trial of three magazines, I'd say its probably worth having ago - the toolkit may be a bit crap, but it will come in useful, I guess.
#2
They've done this deal before, the toolkit arrived for some, not others. The quidco payment is still in my account, due for Feb 2007. I recently cancelled after the 3 issue's. Didn't read them tbh, but certainly a good deal :)
#3
Worth it for the toolkit and the magazine isn't bad either :)

This link:

I cannot get in to widearea.co.uk. Is this an official partner of computer shopper? The logo on the page does not match the official logo.

I scared of entering my debit card details. Even if it is secure.

Yeah that's the Dennis Publishing group :)
#6
Thanks, very fast response!

Now linked to the correct deals which are Dennis Publications ;-)

i think you phone them up, although im curious as to how you cancel as well.... iv tried having 2 other subscriptions, first one they didnt accept my form of payment so i didnt recieve anyhting but a letter instructing me how to pay. i recieved my other subscription + my free gift + my quidco payment but i didnt actually get charged as they couldnt accept my form of payment either!
when i tried to cancel by email i just got a auto response which was of no help.
#11
ok m8 thanks for the info if someone replys maybe this can be bumped as a reminder for ppl who took this offer out?
#12
im going to give it a go anyway, then find a solution later ;)
#13
Cancel your DD and you cancel your subscription. Simple, really. I joined this last time around, but still haven't received the tool kit. Sounds like it was no great loss though... :)
#14
If you look in the magazine there is a list of phone numbers, there is one for "subscriptions", just call them up, say you want to cancel, they will ask for your postcode and name and cancel it straight away.
#15
Also worth noting that the Quidco is only £4.00, not £8.00 as suggested above.
#16
I did this last time round and it was fine. I got the three magazines but no toolkit until i rang them and they sent it a couple of days after. Cancellation was no problem, a quick phone call did the trick. I also cancelled the direct debit order with my bank for extra peace of mind that they will not take more money.
The toolkit is ok, does the job well, cnt complain at this price.

Welcome to HotUKDeals Filthy Monkey, shane8960 and fosters110 :)

Yes it's very easy to cancel if you don't want to keep receiving it and the toolkit is fine, easily worth the £1 and if you're lucky enough for it to track through QuidCo, you make at least £3 so nothing to lose...

quidco shows £8 for me

£8 for a genuine new member who takes up the 3 issue for £1 offer and entered valid credit card/bank details for online subscription
#20
Is this not the same offer as that posted by karlosblanco 10 days earlier?

Thanks Premier :) Yeah same deal, but as there have been quite a few posts in this thread and different info, we'll leave them both on this occasion...

Check out the other Dennis Publishing deals, I think there are offers still available there too ;-)

This offer was only posted a week or so ago by me. Ive applied for it and Ive received the toolkit. People expect this toolkit to be fantastic quality when its free? Well it isnt. But its ok. Im still waiting for my quidco credit but I did only sign up for it a week ago.

Oh but watch out. When I filled all the details in then it said that £3 would be debited from my account (Not £1) I emailed them and they said they cant do anything until the order has been processed completely. I will let you know what happens.
#23
p.s Must remember to read second page before replying and typing the same as Rayman has just said!

Also worth noting that the Quidco is only £4.00, not £8.00 as suggested above.

My Quidco says its £8 - Where does it say £4?

I don't expect the toolkit to be brilliant - it's free!

Just one question, how long did it take for quidco to track. I ordered nearly a week ago and has not tracked.
#26
Me too and it hasnt tracked yet. Even if it doesnt track its only a pound.

According to Quidco...
Tracking Speed
Slow (0 - 30+ days,
9 day average)

Tracking Reliability

Statistics unavailable

Payment Speed
Slow (4 month avg)

I have just noticed you can either go through the Dennis Publishing (£4) or Computer Shopper (£8) Quidco link, hmm, decisions decisions....

I used the offer around 12 months ago, the toolkit is not bad for free. It's also very easy to cancel, and you can take up any future offers too. Worth it for a freebie and a few free issues,

I signed up for the 6 issues of Auto Express for £1 + Free Atlas. Got the magazines, canceled and got £4 quidco no problem. But been 2 months no Atlas in sight.
#31
if you really want to i could give you mine for just the postage price.

edit: i signed up to it too, but i already had a road atlas with my UK map
#32
I'm still waiting for my Quidco to track...
#33
Me too. Is there anyway I can chase it up with Quidco?
#34
you can submit an enquiery if thats what you mean? after a certain amount of days you can submit an enquiery, all you need is your order number
#35
Mine didnt track either (its been a week), and now I cant even find computer shopper listed as a mechant in quidco at all!

No it seems to have disappeared.

If you go into the missing transaction enquiry tool, it knows which links you have been through in the last few months - Computer Shopper is listed in there, but it says they are unable to deal with enquires for this merchant.

I will try and put an enquiry through under Dennis Publishing and see if they are OK with that - if you can get £4 out of it, its better than nothing.
#37
mine has now tracked on quidco after a week

mine has now tracked on quidco after a week

Mine still hasn't tracked, I ordered it probably about two weeks ago.

It seems this isn't the only thing not to track for me lately, my LX Direct one doesn't seem to be showing up, and my Dabs.com one didn't track the full value of the order (wtf?).
#39
I just checked my quidco and it's tracked at £8, and on top of that, my toolkit arrived last week.
It's not the greatest tool kit ever, but it's exactly what i need to stick in my laptop case for work.

Now i if just remember to cancel after the third issue, this will be a great bargain!

Still no Quidco tracking for me!! No sign of the toolkit either, however, my first magazine just arrived in the mail.
