You can also get the 6 month contract with selected phones on the mix an match 300 tariff also with unlimited 3 to 3 calls for £15 per month

Been this for about a week, if you don't mind a cr @p phone then only tied to 6mths on the £15/18 deals for new customers only. Cancel and restart.
Was due to start Nov as posted here.

whats the point of having unlimited calls if they keep dropping and the call quality is rubbish ? :(

best to get a Vodafone contract instead :)

Tara , u had bad experience , i used it in Birmingham , Leicester, Bolton , nerver droped a call in 2 years.

3 have great deals but probably the worst customer service I have encountered - If you dont need help then great - I have renewed my contract twice before , but this time, dealing with their (lack of) support people, as soon as my contracts are up in another 13 months I will never buy another 3 phone again.

I have been using the 3 service for about 4 or 5 years and yes the India call centres can be a bit frustrating - as they dont deviate from the script in front of them.

As for call drop-outs and lack of coverage it is not an issue.

Me the wife and my mum are all on three now and think its great.

Hopefully the unlimited 3 calls will be for all customers.

Edit - oh I see its for new only. Well my phone is out of contract next month anyway.

That's rubbish. I rarely wait more than a few seconds on the phone (missus regularly waits 15-20 on hold to O2) and have always been dealt with pretty well.

Been with them for 5 years now and for value for money nobody can touch them.

3 is one of the WORST companies I've had to deal with. The staff just read from scripts and usually fail to call back when they promise (although they are courteous on the phone)

As for call drop outs, I've had a few and usually 3-5 times a month with no connection to network (London area).
Compared to my t T-mobile and previous experience with Orange and BT cellnet, 3 is just too frustrating to have as a reliable mobile provider.

Phone that was 'repaired' 4 times, couldn't send or receive texts....couldn't hold a conversation for more than 30 seconds in a big city with apparent 100% coverage. They wouldn't replace the phone or allow me to cancel the contract! Probably the worst customer experience of my entire life...I wouldn't go back if it was free.

I would be very reluctant to go back with 3. I was with them for 3 years and I got quite a lot of dropped calls, some people would call me on my landline as they couldnt get through on my mobile even though my mobile was switched on and had a good signal but they were getting 'Number is unavailable' when trying to call me on it, not very good when your waiting to hear from job interviews I can tell you! Tried calling customer service and they were about as useful as breasts on a bull! couldnt wait until my contract was finished then I dumped them for good.

I've been with vodafone which were pretty good, always got good call quality and signal no matter where I was in the UK, same as when I was with T-Mobile, or One-2-One at that time many moons ago! lol

I ended up opting for O2 who gave me 2 excellent deals, 1 was a free N95-8GB, 600 Anytime Mins, 1200 txt and any bolt-on which I can change every 3 months if I like, I started with the Unlimited landlines and now on Unlimited Internet for the time being, all for £30 a month.

My other O2 off-peak tarrif I get 1000 off-peak minutes to landline or any mobile, 100 txt and 100kb in Web use for £3.50 a month and used as a spare/backup also got a free run of the mill phone with that as well.

I'm happy with O2 and will be sticking with them for the forseeable future.

I'm just glad I didnt go back with 3........

Trust me I wouldnt go back with 3 if it was free, I'd rather pay a few quid to the other main operator for a decent service.

Just cancelled 2 contracts with them as they couldn't/wouldn't let me have a 6mth contract only 18mth being an existing customer. No probs with service in the past 5 yrs but as many have said if you need to use cust service they would try the patience of a saint. Waiting on retentions to call , if nothing better offered I can still take out the 6mth contract as a 'new' customer. Just need to trans no. to payg and then back I hope.

I like to think I know abit about Three, I am currently on my 6th contract (I always start a new contract as I have never been offered a good deal to resign up). These are the handsets I have had:

Motorola A835 (12 months)
Nokia 7600 (12 months)
Motorola C975 (18 months)
Nokia 6630 (18 months)
Nokia N70 (18 months)
Nokia N73 (9 months into an 18 month contract)

Yes Three were rubbish when they first started out, the calls would drop or you would get loud squeeling down the phone, the handsets would go red hot, the battery would discharge and the customer services were terrible.

The last Three contracts I have had (the three Nokias) I have never had any problems with calls dropping.

OK the customer services can be abit frustrating but at least you get to talk to them without waiting to long, if you email customer services with your complaint they call you back and more often than not give you a credit on your bill for the hassle thats been casued.

Me and Hubby cant wait till March and we can get away from 3. Customer service are bad (Massive understatement). The best being when trying to talk to a manager he did snoring noises at me!!!! The service started off ok but calls drop out ALL the time. Once i rung customer services about it and they ended up ringing my landline cus it kept dropping out and then told me there was nothing wrong with my service.. There scripts dont seem to allow there to actually be a problem.

3 is bad but orange is much much worse


Im not sure how Orange are nowadays, but when I was with them about 5 years or so ago they were exceptionally good. Probably the best (or joint with T-mobile).

As for 3 they are without a doubt an extremely bad company to deal with when things go wrong. The staff are clueless on dealing with problems, they just follow scripts, and when they run out of options they say they will contact you within 24 hours yet they never do. Had this 3-4 times in the 10-11 months I've been with them.
If you don't need to call them, then they have some of the best call plans and add-ons in the industry.

3 is Cr*p , my friend bought a £10 voucher from a 3 shop ,didnt use it in time and was told that it was his own fault as there is a time limit printed on the voucher ,there isnt when you buy the voucher from a 3 shop when he pointed that out they said he should have read the conditions on the web page ,told them he doesnt have internet ,tough they said !!
My wife as been using 3 pay as you go for the last few months , she as just got a txt message from them telling her that as she is not using a 3 phone they will cut her off and she will lose her credit in 5 days :x

Went into the 3 store in irvine and asked about this deal having been previously told it was an internet only by the store in Glasgow. Irvine sales assistant was willing to match this deal with no hesitation. :)
