The 3 USB modem gives you truly mobile broadband thats easy to use and wont cost you an arm and a leg. It means freedom from wires and hotspots, and access to the Internet at breakneck speeds.

Three's hottest new dongle comes in black, and has a MicroSD memory card slot suitable for cards up to 4GB in size, so it can double up as a memory stick as well.

The E160G is an even simpler plug and play dongle, as its preloaded with the new Birdstep dashboard, which gives you a link from their desktop straight through to My3 and a broadband dashboard which automatically updates itself to a new version when available.

Everything auto-installs so you get on the web even quicker than before. And when you're in a Turbo Network you can get broadband internet access speeds of up to 3.6MBps. Plus with the E160g supporting speeds of up to 7.2Mbps, you're futureproofed for a while against network developments.

I think this is the same as the t-mobile one which I have.

Just as a headsup for linux users, this works out of the box with ubuntu 8.10 - no farting about.

you'd be better off buying the dongle without the card for £29.99 and then ordering the memory card from play for £6.49, atleast then you save a few quid and can get a decent brand card

I've had 3 and voda mobile broadband. Both work perfectly well at high speed when you get a good 3G signal but both have quite frequent blackspots where the signal isn't possible. I recommend it but neither are perfect. 3 is £10 a month/1g £15 for 3gig Voda is I think £7.50 a monthnfor 500Mb (unlimited) although I'm on contract so just off memory for voda.

* £10 for up to 1Gb usage over 30 days
* £15 for up to 3Gb useage over 30 days
* £25 for up to 7Gb useage over 30 days
* Otherwise charged at £1 per Mb

Thanks, but no thanks :whistling:

I've just bought this one (Vodafone) and the PAYG credits do expire, but after something like 180 days of inactivity, so not really anything to worry about but worth noting.

Why's that then?

Price has come down a lot to what it was and it compares reasonably well to some other parts of the world I have been in. When it works it works well, but my experience of it throughout the country is that every provider has black spots in different areas and none give a brill uninterrupted stream like home broadband. On 3 and voda when you get a good signal it's perfect for web browsing and files.

Be interested to hear why this isn't a reasonable deal and BB is such a con?

£10 a month for 1gb, thats terrible value, i will be waiting until it gets better coverage and the price is half what it is now, i suppose its ok for those on the move or students, but for a house connections its terrible.

I surfed the net constant for 2hrs Saturday, Bolton Town Center. connected via 3G, (Vodafone PAYG Modem) not much slower than my home O2 wifi. Credit balance dropped from £14.97 to £14.69 = 0.28p if that's not gvfm I don't what is !

stream some video files then, you would wave goodbye to your £14.97 ok for web surfing thats it
