Three mobile Broadband (5GB) 18 month £8.25

polyalloy Avatar
6y, 6m agoFound 6 years, 6 months ago
Normal price £15/month
Get 25% off as existing customer reduces the price to £11.25
use £3 off code: 3MBB3OFF to reduce the price to £8.25

Topcashback tracked £48

Possible RAF of 2x£15 between you and family member
So potentially less than £4/month for 5GB mobile broadband

All other competitors £15 for 3GB data.
Especially useful for anyone without BT or Virgin landline

The procedure to get £8.25 is in post #22.

This looks like a glitch and I am not sure people can get it. I have post my experience in post #30.

with the three network coverage, or lack of coverage, and poor customer service, i would personally avoid this deal.

there are a lot of potentials, and other discounts, that are unlikely to appeal to everyone, however if you meet ALL the requirements you mention, maybe a good deal for you.

Nice one! I thought I'd got a good deal getting this for £12 a month. Coverage around London has been fine so far - but if you're in the back nowhere... :whistling:

to be honest they just upgraded their network I am in London and geting 2mb on their line, before it use to be so crappy I wanted to leave but now it is pretty good both in transfer and reception...
about discounts I am not sure if they will honour any cashback with using codes I was trying before on two occasions and was alsway denied... and about codes, I am not sure if u can use extra code if one was used already...
overall it is good deal if honoured...

When it comes to 3G only, no company can top Three.

You get pure 3G connection.

Something to take into account boys and girls is that some areas are still dead zones, also ANY mobile broadband provider will advise you they cannot guarantee the quality of the signal in your home (too many factors like you could live in a cave). I live in Blackpool, work in Preston and get excellent coverage here (check your coverage BEFORE buying people)
#6
no surprise they have good coverage in London.

crap reception around manchester, central manchester is OK, but venture out... and no signal.

like i said, best for those who can benefit from ALL the options mentioned in the original deal, and if that's the case, you probably are already with them

I have very good vodafone reception where i live, and i get 3.5mb +

the £3 off code was successfully used together with 25% off existing customer discount.
£48 topcashback was already tracked. I went through RAF and input my wife's number so both account could get £15.
It worked twice for me before with code, cash back and RAF.
Even without cashback it's still the best in the market.
My only choice as I don't have access to ADSL.
I am in London and the signal is very good with3.5G connection.

Just remember Three are still upgrading their network.
They have recently upgraded my area, before the signal was patchy at best, now its full signal 3G for miles around (so more than a couple masts):-D

I believe they are also sharing 3G with T-mobile(which I guess must include orange's masts too)

I recently tried to cancel my contract with Three (unsuccessfully, after 20 minutes on the phone I've got the next 30 days for free but haven't actually got rid of them!) as I've bought a prepaid dongle from T-mobile.

But Three's internet has proved to be significantly faster and more reliable with better coverage where I live and work in Glasgow.

So what actually did they say? I cancelled a contract with them recently and it took me less than 5 minutes.

I used to have a cheap 3 mobile broadband deal as a 3 contract phone customer and I seem to recall that if you cancel your phone contract the broadband deal reverts to full price.
This was quite a while ago so maybe it has changed or I remembered it wrong but worth looking into. I have a 3 phone contract that will expire soon so I shall ask what the situation is as I am tempted by this.

Great coverage everywhere I go, except the Lake District. Fast speeds, usually 1.5-2 Mbps but frequently had over 4Mbps. And I got 5GB for £7.50 as an existing user - 12 month contract

Hard to say as I didn't understand her accent, but she seemed pretty determined to keep me as a customer. Think I'll just cancel my direct debit and send them an email!

Great coverage everywhere I go, except the Lake District.

The coverage on Snowdon is like the snow at this time of year; patchy. :-D
I was pleasantly surprised with my coverage using it over 18 months.

Same problem here.

Have anybody bought it this deal and went through with all the discount ?

and how to claim the RAF. Nothing is mentioned in the website reg RAF

I called the sales team and was told only one discount can be applied either £3 off or 25%
and offered further £15 credit once.

with the three network coverage, or lack of coverage

If you look at the recent ofcom maps you will see that three have the most and best 3g coverage across the uk. Absolutely crushing every other network:)
With three you are also on orange for 2g coverage. So you have the coverage of 2 networks:thumbsup:

Here is how:
1. go through topcashback and continue to Three website
2. copy and paste https://www.three.co.uk/three_co_uk/Refer_A_Friend in the address bar
3. click "already been recommended"
4. click "shop online now"
5. order the 5gb 18month mbb
6. you will be asked for your friend's number in the process
7. apply the 25% discount first, then the £3 off code

I have went through again with no problem to get £8.25

Well worth it for new Ipad owners (As long as youre willing to chop your sim card up!)...the 'Official' Tarriffs from O2, Orange and Voda are pure rip-offs!
#23
I usually get 1mb on my 3 phone, which is the same as BT give us through ADSL! at the moment though, I get very little signal, I guess they're in the middle of upgrading something, but if it doesn't get better soon I'm gonna have to go in store and ask, where I know there is good customer service, the people in our store are fantastic!

But yeah, very good deal if you ask me, I don't suppose the 3 mobile internet software gives you some kind of monitor? so you can monitor your usage?

Utter rubbish, three has one of the best data networks of all the carriers.

I would advise against the Dell 1012 deal, an extra £10 per month for 24 months means you are paying £240 for the 'free' laptop, and being tied down for 2 years on your contract!

There are much better deals out there for netbooks for and under the £240 mark, that said for those who can't afford a net book upfront it may be a decent way to get one and spread the payments without taking out credit.

This seems a glitch for Three webshop.
for my first order the order confirmation was from dialaphone. And the details were not correct as only the £3 discount.

I have contacted Three and was told that the three.co.uk webshop is managed by 4U group so I could get confirmation from dialaphone. my order was cancelled. The suggestion was to order again and there should be no problem.

So I ordered again. This time there was no confirmation email. they cannot get my order detail through my order reference number. I contacted the same manager again. He appologized for the problem and said it need the IT team to sort out. He will contact me later.

So this is a glitch and the orders go to dialaphone. Be aware

3 gave me 15gb for £15 per month on a 24 month contract.

I'm on the East Yorkshire coast and high speed mobile broadband coverage is strong and continuous.

3 can do no wrong for me.
#32
I'm currently about 10 months through my 18 month contract with 3 for their mobile broadband.

I'm on the 15GB package and it costs £15 per month (I got a friend to recommend me so I get 25% discount each month) and have to say that it has been a really good service from them.

There are the odd occasions where the connection speed is low or intermittent but that is to be expected from a mobile network, anyone who thinks that they are going to get a solid perfect connection needs to think again.

I generally get a download speed of around 2.5Mbit, occasionally it will drop to around 1Mbit but then at other times it goes above 3Mbit, for the past 2 months or so I have been regularly downloaded files at 350-400KB/s which is not bad at all as far as I'm concerned.
#33
When I see something saying "18 month contract", I tend to run away from it these days. 18 MONTHS - in this day and age. voted hot as a good price though.
#34
Why not just buy a 12 Month prepaid Tmobile dongle for £70 odd off ebay?

Cheaper and less hassle :)

You can't have been getting 400kb they don't even offer speeds that fast.

+ You contradicted yourself...

Generally get download speeds of 2.5Mbit...But you regularly get download speeds of between 350-400kb....right?

Like I just posted, check ebay...

You'll get what they are offering on an 18month contract on a 12 month basis - £70 if you can hang around for a good offer. I bought one the other day for £55 for the year!!!

Yesterday it ignored my attempts at adding my 3 mobile number to get the 25% off and today it says it can’t find the info.
Has anyone managed to stack both the voucher and use their current 3 number to get it at £8.25?
Good luck on actually getting this deal and TopCashback is now £22.50 for 5GB contracts.

When I get into refer a friend the website says the following:

Here's why it could be good for you:
Recommend a friend to 3 and, as a thank you from us, you'll both get some credit on your account. If your friend goes for a phone you both get £30 credit. If they go for Mobile Broadband, you both get £15. And if they choose both, that's £45 each. Nice.

How does this one off £15 credit translate into a 25% discount on £15 per month?

I can assure you that I have been getting those speeds.

And I didn't contradict myself - I do generally receive a download speed of around 2.5Mbit (however it does sometimes go lower than that that and sometimes goes higher), I do regularly get download speeds of around 350-400KB/s as I do any downloading that I need to do between 8am-1pm.

I wasn't saying that when I get a connection of 2.5Mbit that I can achieve 350+ KB/s, I was saying that although I usually get around 2.5Mbit, I do regularly download at speeds of 350-400KB/s.
