Went instore yesterday and got this deal:

Free ZTE dongle
1 month rolling contract
5gig usage

Just £3 total

Supposed to be for existing customers which i am but no one asked me for any details they just did it. Now here is the good bit , you can cancel the next day and still get the full month . I know as i have just done this for the 2 dongles i got. However if you want to keep it they are open to negotiating and looking to get a better deal than there is and they offered me some options.

You call call 500 from your three phone to talk to them.

So i think this is a great deal for just £3 for one month 5gig , whether for yourself or a visitor BARGAIN.

if with 3 go to planet3 on your phone deal is on there
dongle and first month for £3 then goes up to £15 - giving you 5gb a month
need to give a months notice to cancel , so if lucky may get it for £3 or worst comes to worst and because you go into the next month you have to pay for it , you end up paying a total of £18 for 2 months mobile internet

Great deal! Hot :)

too much ****** about for me

I already have a 3 dongle. No signal where I live but they were doing 1gb a month for £5 on an 18 month contract.
#14
In the future, Three, T-mobile and Orange should be sharing masts.

Seems a nice deal!
Is the 5gig only usable within the first month, or forever? :?

I'd imagine first month only. This isn't PAYG, rather a rolling contract.

3 and T-Mobile already are (for 3G only). And yeah, all 3 by prolly end of this year.... but no guarantee.

Orange and T-Mobile (IN UK) are one company now.

I am guessing the same thing. If it is a contract it might goes on your credit file! At least my 6 months skypephone contract is visible on my credit report :?

i have a 3 dongle with sim, which has presently expired.
The signal was so bad it was impossible to use anywhere near a GB in 6 months, never mind 5 GB in a month.
#20
Went into Sheffield store and he said I couldn't have it as was only on pay as you go phone and it was for people with contracts only.

If I was to get one of these and cancelled, what can it be used for? Do you need to take out a contract with someone else?
#26
Good if you want a rolling contract, but they also offer 15 gigs usage for £15 per month if you're willing to commit to a 2 year contract. Possible Quidco, too (only £30 now, but was £100 when I signed up).

Their signal can be a bit hit-and-miss. Some days it will be lightening-fast, and some days it'll be slower than dial-up. They say it's because they're upgrading their network. I'd say I get good speeds about 95% of the time. Also, if you call them up to complain about your signal, they'll usually give you a refund. I had a bad signal for about a week and they refunded me the whole month's premiums without me even asking.

The ZTE dongles can be a bit temperamental, but I've only had to have mine replaced once in the past 7 months. And the replacement was free and arrived pretty quickly.

May have expired, just visited Milton Keynes store showed him this post and he said it was old and no longer available, its now £7.50
#29
just called them and the woman said they cant do that deal.
#30
I went into a store and they said its only with a new handset - lying bitch said it was in the t&c's but i looked and nothing also says expires MAY 23rd. Gonna call up customer services and complain
#31
this deal is easy its a 1 month rolling contract if you buy it when you take any 18 or 24 month contract upgrade are included then you can get this device for £7.50 instore this £7.50 includes the cost of the Device and the first months which is 5GB of data, the line rental in month 2, you start paying £15 for 5GB of Data but still a rolling contract that can be cancelled, when you buy this your not signing to anything at the store level you have to call a number to get it connected in the first 14 days which is a real cleaver idea.

But if you are a 3 customer and go on to planet 3 at the bottom there is a link to the same deal but you only have to pay £3 all stores should honner this as it still advertised and that is a legal issue on this it does say you have to show the member of staff the barcode that comes up. this deal should be on untill the £23 of may acording to the link on planet 3.

Simple and very good deal.
#32
anyone know what's the best dongle to use with linux - i heard the huawei ones work but require some serious tinkering.

also, do carriers allow use of skype over these things?
#33
I was a 3 customer and the bitch said they dont do it anymore and they wanted to upsell me a new contract, when i already have one.
#34
Just been in to a Nottingham store ... got the dongle and 1st month for £3 !! He said are u an existing 3 customer... i said no .. he winked and asked me again ... i said yes ... no further questions and he set the deal up for me !! Top bloke :0) and im getting 2.5 mbps speed from it ... only arse was the call centre to activate it but HOT from me!
#35
oh and he said that the deal expires tomorrow!
#36
******s had changed they mind- £15 a month now...
