Free roaming...but not where I want it.....Spain and Greece..
#3
Gavin, could you expand on that? I have a supply of EE 6GB SIMS, so I am worried!

Sim pre-loaded with All-in-One £15 Add-On gives you All-You-Can-Eat Data, 300 minutes and 3000 texts for up to 30 days, to get you started

Well you timed that right. I was in the process of buying on for a trip abroad and paying the £15.00 so have ordered 2 instead.8)

We have checked with the Three web site and these Sim's expire 30 after activation, There is nothing to say they have any other time frame.
#7
Excellent deal: if my dad and I were not on three contracts, would have bought more than one.
#8
If I buy a few of of these 30 day sims now, is there a risk one of these 30 day sim packs would have expired if I don't open it till next year for 30 days use next summer?
#9
Going on a 4 day break where i know I wont have wifi, took a gamble on getting this to work in my iPad (can activate it on a phone), for that price Ill get over it if it doesnt work :p

Yes. The ones I got from Prepaymania expired at the end of May. EE won't play even though they don't have a expiry date. Told me to get a refund from prepaymania. They said I need to sort it with EE as they were in date. Rock and a hard place spring to mind.

* To benefit from Feel At Home, SIM only phone customers must have been with Three for more than 30 days.
If you're on Pay As You Go, all you need to do is convert your credit into an Add-on. You can then use the allowance in any Feel At Home destination.

Therefore if you want to use this going abroad, it is of no use, immediately. The 30 days with Three will time out at the same time as this 30 day bundle.
I purchased 2 x 1-2-3 SIMs a month ago, activated, and left in old unused phones. I'll add the same £15 bundles this week, before going to France next week. I hope/ expect my Feel At Home functions. I'll go in store and double check against the numbers and pay there. That way for £30, me and the misses will be able to be in contact, so we can keep in touch whilst doing different things and enable our families to contact us without worrying that we are out the country. Also cheaper to use Google maps whilst driving, than paying for the French maps in the car (£40).

Phil

I don't know about tethering, but hotspotting works fine with this.

..."hot spotting" is just as much tethering as usb tethering.

OK, well I was always lead to believe that networks could detect the difference (or rather they couldn't tell if you were hot spotting but could if you were USB tethering). Maybe that's nonsense.

I'm just saying I had one of these sims and used it for wireless tethering or hot spotting or whatever you want to call it. It worked fine so I don't know why it says "WILL NOT work with tethering" in the description.

Great deal, picked one up

Don't suppose you know if these work in S4 though? Micro sim I think - can I just cut it? ;)
#17
You can hot spot / tether from one android to another but get a laptop on it and you'll get the message about tethering.

It comes as a micro sim with an adapter to enlarge it.

Do these have an expiry date?

I too would be grateful if anyone can clarify/confirm if these cards have an expiry date beyond which it cannot be activated.

Thanks :)

I've got one if those popular Huawei mifi devices - will this sim work ok in that for tethering - or will I need to put this in my iPhone and switch on personal hotspot for other apple devices to tether to?
#21
The tethering won't work for feel at home is what I believe the OP meant.

The only people that can give you that assurance are the suppliers/resellers themselves, (not Three, unless you purchase directly from them). if you are worried, get confirmation via email from them before purchase, so you have proof of what they offered.

So I can buy this nit put it in til September when I need it for usa and it'll work with feel at home from the offset?
#24
Sorry. Silly question time. I'm going to the states at the end of August. If I buy a couple of these will they work in our unlocked phones to call home and get unlimited data while we're over there? (ie: can I activate them on say the 20th of August, or do they activate straight away?) Sorry, I'm a smartphone noob. :(

You might get away with using it as a hotspot for a while, but unless your very lucky...3 will disable it very soon.

As far as I'm aware, teathering/ hotspot is only available on the one plan, but it will probably work temporarily on other 3 sims.

can it be done without 3 finding out?

Is there any deal out there to allow unlimited data for a month or so and allow tethering without signing up a contract ? Could be any network except O2.

PAYG/ SIM only v contract.
This will be great for in the UK, but unless they are activated for 30 days, they will not be part of Feel At Home.
Even the contracts cannot work on Feel At Home immediately - you need to have paid a bill before Feel At Home activates. I went in store and asked - my objective is to have a SIM that'll work in France at the cheapest cost.
This will NOT work abroad under Feel At Home if you purchase now a take abroad tomorrow.

Yes it will. I bought one on a Thursday, activated it and topped up the same day and went to Chicago on the Friday and it worked fine.
#33
Do you top up £8.50 every 30 days to get the 300 minutes, unlimited data and 3000 texts ?

I'm confused...
#34
So basically as soon as they are activated I can go to Norway and use without any additional setup

I'm pretty sure you have to ring them up to activate roaming. I had to :/

Yeah, I'm going with this feedback from the same item given only last month

To clarify the sim card does work with all mins texts and data while abroad in the areas that 3 has their network (Feel at Home)

and

I bought one of these recently in order to use when in Ireland ("feel at home" with Three where you can use your Three mobile in certain countries as if you are in the UK so UK inclusive bundles, rates, etc). It was ideal for what I wanted and enabled me to keep in touch with family by text, phone or internet without worrying about running up an exorbitant bill. The sim card fitted well with the adapter and I was able to use it immediately.

You buy the sim... spend the minutes and texts within 30 days and then buy a new sim card..

or you can keep the sim and instead pay 15 quid to renew the minutes, data and texts
