I was just rang by some Three call center woman and offered 250 minutes and 100 text messages a month (may have been 300 minutes and 150 text, i was half asleep!!, was at least 250 minutes and 100 text though) for £5 a month for life (price on bill, no cashback) with the Nokia 6288 but i managed to get the sony K800i instead, as i said the nokia was rubbish.
It's on an 18 month contract, dunno if i could have asked for 12 month, but i doubt it.
If your a light phone user and don't want the cashback hassle this seems too good to be true. I had problems with cashback deals and with Three not sending bills as well, which voided cashback last time :-/
Don't know if they will let anyone have this deal, but might be worth ringing and finding out!

Glad to see someone tried my first deal post! The other reason its a good deal for me is my Nokia 6280 died when i tried updating the firmware, so im using and old motorola and new phone will be delivered on monday.

Thing is, i don't know if they will charge me to fix the old phone, as its under 12 months old, but was a refurbished phone, and i can't find any documents stating the date of purchase except from the site i origionally got it from, but then that doesn't state the serial number or IMEI.

Has anyone had any experience with getting a dead phone repaired?
Thanks

Three are always like this, they have new retention deals all the time.

Yes.. renewal :)

New customers have to go via cashback route to get a 'better' (with handset) deal.

be careful, check your 1st bill, sometimes the cs of 3 cheated

I got 500 mins/mth and 100 texts for £14.99/mth (it's a £30/mth deal but they credited £180 to my bill immediately to effectively make it half price) plus a free Sony Ericsson W850i. On my insistence, this was a 12 month deal. I sold the W850i for £160 on Amazon as I already have a perfectly decent 3 phone. 3 are VERY keen to retain their customers. :)

Seems renewals are better than taking a new contract out.

Wonder if its worth me getting a PAYG sim and try upgrading to a contract? See what they offer?

Last October i rang to cancel and got 100 mins 100 texts £5 for the year a lot got this offer from 3 last year.

can somebody clarify are these deals for retentions only, have just tried the sales number on 0800 358 6946, i was told they do not do deals like that, it must have come from an agent. Or is there another number i should ring??

Usually you get better deals when they call you (from experience) :).

Anyone renewed in the past week? WHat offers are current? Just offered £10/m for life with existing old Nokia so declined. ALternative was a K610i but if I wanted a K800i then it was £23/m Better to wait until the end of the month or what?

The Link has some good cashback offers but the best are sold out already.

As a retention deal a few months back i got 750 mins any time any network and 150 messages for £10 a month, but i had to keep my old phone, which i didnt mind. On a 12 month contract too :-)
(if u wanted K610i it was £20 a month)

Just been offered 750 mins, 150 texts for £20pm, or 500 mins, 100 texts for £15, when I rang to end my contract saying I was going to try Vodaphone. Both were with the Nokia 6288. I'm not interested in either, so we'll see if they get back to me. Now, the OP would be of interest if offered.

Just take it to a nokia repair center they usually give about 15 months warranty. If you can acccess your phone check *#0000# this shows firmware number and date installed if it hasn't been changed by yourself. I have found them very helpful in the past. Nothing to lose.

hi, i just renewed a few days ago, got 500 mins/100 txts keep my existing phone (sony k800i, fine phone) for £10/month but get £45 credit to start so £75 for the year, £6;25/month. just accepted it coz i could'nt be buvvered searching for better deals. how does this seem? could i cancel the new contract if people think i could get better? ( existing contract end 27/july). cheers.
#20
I was offered that less the credit but as I have a crappy Nokia I declined.

I tried to get a deal for my wife, alongside my existing package. They told me to f*** off, in so many words.
So I fired off a mail to their CS dept, telling them that unless they do me a deal on a second phone now, then they lose me as a customer the moment my 18mths are up. A bird in the hand, and all that ...
We'll now see how much Three value their existing customers. I have eight months left on my contract, so if they don't want to lose my custom after that then they had better think about how they treat me right now. That eight months will soon go by.
The cheeky mare at the sales dept (I was passed there by some bloke in Mumbai) offered me a bog standard deal that any new customer would get. They really do treat their customer base like a bunch of muppets :x
It's not like I even value them as a provider, as their 3G service is constantly dropping calls unless I stand next to my front window. You really would think that they would be firing on all guns with incentives to keep their customers. They apparantly don't really care either way IMO.

Another flag for me to fly :giggle:

anyone got a number for 3 retentions?

hi

i received a phone call from 3 yesterday offering me 500 mins , 100 text still keeping my current phone and number on a 18 month contract .free for the first 17 months then 1 payment on the 18th month of £18.no redemption, they said that my 3 account would be credited with £520 ,checked today and my current spend on My3 has been credited.works out £1 a month as long has i don't go over my allowance with no redemption.
my contract was due to run out on the 22nd of june,i received the phone call on the 15th of june so it may be worth while waiting about a week before your contract is due to end.

I recently got offered a 12 month deal at the end of my contract (I had given my notice to cancel) - £336 credited to my account on a £30 a month tariff (500 mins, 100 texts). So, 12 months free calling for only £24! I accepted the deal of course :-)

It's no suprise that 3 are losing money, they seem desperate.:w00t:

Is it any wonder when the only way to get a deal is to be a new customer or one whom wants to leave? Who, honestly, can say that after 18months of them don't need a desperate call from the retentions dept to get them to stay?
Wouldn't it be better to have a breed of customer that is happy to stay with no coersion?
#27
333 from your 3 mobile. They are always offering great retention deals. Go through the options as if you are leaving them. Hot deal for people who forget at the end of the contract. But these deals are all year round.

Me. I'm very happy with Three and have been with them since about 03 I forget. The first 12 months was appalling but it was a cashback and after I renewed the service was great and has been until today. I'd like to stay with them but only for the right offer.

They all lose money and one of the reasons is they and the market place importance on "new" signups.

That's exactly right. They should be thinking along the lines of "We've got 'em, now let's keep 'em". Too much weight is put on new customers and not enough on satifying their existing customer base. A company is about a lot more than an 18 month period. A viable company will pull them in, and keep them as happy customers. Not begging them to stay for peanuts.
For every one person who thinks Three are great, five think they suck. There is something wrong with that.

OK I finally gave in to £5 a month for 12 months on the existing handset plus a £25 bonus for 300m+150t.

I really wanted a new phone but never mind...
